The staff was outstanding! From check in with Carla, to prep with Janet, to anesthesiologist Ashleigh, to Misty, to Chetna -- they ALL did so much to put my mind at ease and make the procedure a good experience. And Dr. Mathews (with one "t") is so easy to work with. He explained everything and answered all my questions fully. Need a good doctor? See Dr. Mathews.

Terrible. Initially spent a lot of time with me, then he tried to force a medication on me that was making me sick, and not helping my problem. When I wanted to discuss another path, his nurse hatefully dismissed me on the phone (the entire staff is rude and unhelpful, exact opposite of what you want in a medical professional). He didn't try to do any actual tests to see what was wrong with me, just did the good ole boy tactic: ask a few questions, and take your best guess. That isn't science, and it certainly didn't warrant being paid several hundred dollars. To top all that off, his "bedside manner," so to speak, was terrible. He seemed so cold and rude, and when you are discussing your bowels, you need to feel comfortable and confident in your doctor. If you want that, do not go here.

Every member of the staff is rude and difficult to deal with, including nurse staff. He did spend a lot of time with me, which was nice, and initially I felt like I was listened to well. Later, I had a bad reaction to a treatment I received, and felt like I was ignored, but that might have been because I had to go through his horrible staff rather than speak directly with him. He seems to be a decent doctor, but he would have to be a miracle worker for me to willingly deal with his staff again. Walking through the office door is going to cost you a few hundred dollars, possibly less if you have really good insurance, but well over $100 is certain.

Has done 3 colonoscopies and streched esophagus twice. Very caring and interested in you as a patient. Takes time to explain and answer questions. Will continue to see him as my GI doctor and have recommended him to others.

Saw Dr. Mathews for an office visit and subsequent colonoscopy. He was very kind, professional, and helpful. He took time to answer my questions and made me feel at ease. I would highly recommend him to anyone.
