Dr. Sternberg is like no other Dr. You will ever meet. He helped both my husband and I get our lives back on track when things felt completely hopeless.
He does his job with not an ounce of judgement, and I always leave him feeling so much better about myself then I did before.
He can empathize with you. He cares, and he listens. Something that doesn't happen often today.
He is not just a doctor but a friend, Godsend, and complete blessing in our lives.

Dr.David Sternberg is next to godliness!!!I was a junkie, crack user and a daily high opiate user.I would nod out, sleep under a car and my life was a mess.Today I've been sober for 8 yrs. since finding Dr.David Sternberg.I see Dr, Sternberg every other month and talk to him in between, He is always there to help others, not only myself but family and friends as well!!I have and always would recommend Dr.David Sternberg to anyone and have!!

Dr. David Sternberg is an outstanding psychiatrist but an even better human being. Under his care I have achieved my goals for overcoming depression and enjoy a life that I didn’t think was possible. Also, he has been my most valued advisor on the path of recovery from addiction (alcohol and sex). When you talk to him, you would never know his accomplished background: graduating Yale and numerous appearances on national talk shows (e.g. Oprah). Dr. Sternberg is unafraid and unashamed to share his own journey, including mistakes and lessons he has learned, when it will be helpful to his patient. But the real test is this … my wife deeply appreciates my improvements and growth while under his care. David Sternberg MD is a gem in metro Kansas City’s medical/psychiatric community. If you have a mood disorder or struggle with one or more addictions or are a SO of an addict, you definitely should check him out before choosing a psychiatrist.

The best doctor I've been to in quite awhile. Great listener and gives you a lot of options and lets YOU decide what's best for you, as opposed to doctors who just shove pills down your throat that make you feel horrible. He also lets you talk, he wants to know about you and your life. He may be a psychiatrist, but he is also part psychologist. In that he helps you talk out your problems. All in all, great doctor. HIGHLY recommended.

Dr. sternberg has saved my daughters life who was a herion addict. A girl who came from a good christian family. Was in the hospital for endocarditis for two months from herion addiction. He gave us HOPE when no one did. i owe him so much.

Great doctor! Finally a doctor who truly cares about his patients and cares about their wellbeing. He restored faith in doctors by actually listening and caring. By far the best doctor in Kansas City. Thank you Dr. Sternberg.

Dr. Sternberg has been my physician for the last 10 years. I would reccomend him for his knowledgee of medecine and for his ability to help patients be honest with themselves. He also has unique life experiences that allow him to empathize with his patients.Plus, he had a great sense of humor

found Dr. Sternberg some 20 plus years ago when he first came to Kansas City. I had just been diagnosed as Bi Polar and my life was falling apart. I was the Mother of 5 young children and if not for Dr. Sternberg my kids would have lost their Mom and my Husband would have lost a wife.Some days he might have wished for it........Dr. Sternberg not only saved my life but I have had a productive life since then. I still have my demons but have learned not only how to deal with them but have learned how to use my Mania in a positive way. Thank you Dr. Sterberg

I too have an admiration for Dr. Sternberg's humanity, the quality of his professional services and my most important issue, is empathy towards me, I cannot speak for others but can't imagine the same type of care and dignity are not given to others. It is too innate in his own personality. To say I have gotten my life back is an understatement, Dr. Sternberg seems to allow for your own self-discovery as opposed to a regimen of behavior dictated by textbook psychiatry. He always answers my phone calls, quickly responds to appt. requests, has never failed to answer an email. I feel it is a blessing to have met him personally to assist with my problem and I now look forward to delving into the cause of my behavior. Thanks Dr. S. (tk)

Doctor Sternberg is an exceptional psychiatrist. He helped me face my problems with concern and dignity. Besides finding the correct medication for my illness, he also helped me to better think through the problems and find solutions. Regarding the one comment below, his own openness allowed me to be more honest with him then I have ever been with anyone. I am so grateful to him.
