Dr is a misogynist. Men seem to have better luck, women are treated with disdain. I myself think he is not a "Dr" as he was formerly a teacher & but a wannabe is extremely unprofessional seems more like a crappy teacher than a physician. There is now another Dr - a woman - in the same facility so at least everyone who needs a doc in Chester is not at the mercy of this pompous pretender. Stay away or choose the other doc is my recommendation.

His staff was usually pretty good and well mannered. He, however, was consistently rude and condescending to me. As a type 1 Diabetic I get more support from my doctors, he was always just smug and seemed uncaring. It hit the peak when I started to tell him that I was concerned with a loss of feeling... And before I could say where, he started in with a really smug look and condescending attitude about how of course I was going to lose feeling in my hands and feet because of the diabetes. I interrupted him to tell him that the loss of feeling was in the skin of my breasts (i've slept on my stomach my whole life, i figure that probably did it). He was completely crestfallen, I feel he wanted me to lose a hand or foot! Then he tried to not allow me to get enough test strips to be able to test myself enough, he was allowing me 3/day with a prescription. I use 7/day. That was the last straw.

Probably one of the most uninvolved doctors I have ever met. Seemed completely disinterested and bored. The receptionist is always nasty but the nurses are consistently friendly. This doc needs to retire.

Receptionist:cold and unfriendly, rather rude. Asked me if I would like to cancel when I said I was unsure if I would become a regular patient. Was screened and referred by a local referral service. I said that although I had not chosen a Dr yet I had not ruled him out and would like to keep my appointment. She said I would not likely find a Dr since most were not accepting new patients. (I later found this to be untrue-when I recieved my plan pack it had a list of many-just a longer wait). By this time I was in tears. Dr was indifferent and condescending-urged me to 'seek psychological services'. It was no wonder the office and parking lot were empty except for the few employees.

Does not return phone calls about legitimate health concerns. When he leaves for the day and on weekends, there is no one to call in an emergency. When I have called the answering service on a late Friday afternoon to request a prescription I asked if Dr Schwartz would receive this message before Monday morning, and was told NO, so what was the point in calling? At times I feel like this is an example of “Patient Abandonment,” which of course is illegal and could result in a legal suit.

Refuses to be contacted on weekends, even by email, for medical emergencies that could be solved by a simple prescription. This means that I have to go to the emergency room, which is more expensive to Medicare and the whole system!
