She was very rude to me and also unnecessarily insisted I take my baby to the emergency room for NO reason. It was a stomach flu, her first one. So I took her to Dr. Maharaj my, then, family doctor. She said she was dangerously dehydrated. Not sure how she came to that conclusion because she barely looked at her to assess her. She made me feel like a bad mom for not feeling like this hospital trip was necessary so I took her into the foothills. After a 6-8 hour wait, the doctors looked at me like I was crazy for taking my daughter in, told me to buy some pedialyte and go home. Thanks a lot Dr. Maharaj.

I went to see the doctor about a problem I was having not only was she extremely late seeing me, she seemed rude and rushed she didn't tell me what was wrong or what she suspected she just said go home and rest of it gets worse go to urgent care (lady that was the reason I was there in the first place it got worse). She only followed up on me a week later after I had booked an appointment with a separate doctor. I strongly recommend dr. Cote instead way more effective and seems to know what he is doing. I know she means well but first impression wise she did not do a good job and her staff was rude.

Went to Dr. Maharaj at Alpen Medical in Cochrane, I doubt the one in Camrose is a different person, but if she is, pls mind that this review is for Dr. Maharaj (likes to be called Dr. Mala) in Cochrane! I don't have a single complaint about her: very thorough, very knowledgeable, attentive and open. Too shy to my taste when it comes to PAP tests and stuff like that (I had just given birth to my 1st when she became our Family Dr.) - it made me feel uncomfortable because I sensed that she was uncomfortable, and yes, the PAP test didn't work that time as per the letter from lab, but that's not a problem as long as she gives correct diagnoses (proof - we got cured following her advice) and makes me feel that I trust her. She corrected a couple of poor diagnoses that would have made us taking tons of unnecessary meds and procedures! Always gave out full info, very open and clear, answered dozens of questions, never rushed us out. We moved away, but have only good memories left about her!

Dr Maharaj is currently at the Sundance Clinic in Cochrane. She is fantastic. I love that she recommends holistic approaches to those who prefer to be treated that way (and I do). She is fantastic with following up on test results and actually takes the time to read your chart history before coming into the exam room. I would wholeheartedly recommend her.

Unlike other posts, I have found Dr. Maharaj (Cochrane, AB) very helpful and interested in sorting out my medical needs by trying more holistic approaches before drugs. really like her, and will stick with her.

The best doctor! Done every test needed. Explained everything. Gave me (unasked for) printouts of every test. Cared about my health and cared about me! Am looking for her right now. She has moved from Camrose, AB and I wish she was still here! The other Doctors in Camrose are not very good, to say the least!

Dr Maharaj is currently practicing at the Alpen Clinic in Cochrane. She claims to be an obstetrician but after 3 visits, she has not been able to answer any of my questions about my pregnancy. In my experience she has been rude, unhelpful and very unprofessional. I will NEVER see her again and would seriously discourage anyone else from doing so!
