The best doctor I have been treated by in a very long time; knowledge without pontification, refined ability to translate to layman's terms, humor, calming bedside manner, and the ability to inspire trust even in a surgery-coward like me. I feel a thousand-percent+ better and would not hestitate to be his patient again or recommend him to others. The first time we met while I was hospitalized I had to wait to see him later in the evening because he had been in surgery ALL day - and even though I know he was probably tired and wanted to go home he made my case feel important and worth spending the time for a complete exam and to talk about my options in treatment (he did end up performing the surgery). Since my surgery I have met numerous people here on Whidbey who agree with my opinion of him in every way and 3 of them swear he saved their lives when they had given up. His office assistant was more than punctual, efficient, and very personable.

A rare surgeon without a massive ego. He's absolutely honest in his answers, great bedside manner, terrific sense of humor. He really does care about his patients and hospital.
