First I waited close to two hours, but I was understanding because dire issues arise for doctors. When I saw him, he sent me fir many tests, one if which I questioned because at the time I gad very bad bronchitis. He said it didn’t matter. The results from the test were misleading as a result and he misdiagnosed me with a life threatening condition and when he told me the diagnosis, I asked a question since it was so matter of fact to him and I was in shock. He replied by saying sarcastically, “Was I not speaking slow enough for you?” At that point I didn’t realize I was misdiagnosed and made a follow up appointment. I was 5 minutes late and apologetic. I was told to sit down. I waited 1.5 hours and then was told that he wouldn’t see me because I was late! I didn’t reschedule and saw someone else who explained everything and understood the results of the test taking into account the issue I was having at the time of the test. A few months later I received a very odd letter from his office saying I needed to return to see him, my condition was dire and if I didn’t I risked dying. I was horrified on so many levels! Run from him and don’t look back. There’s a lot of good doctors I. The area and no need to settle and be treated this way.

Unfortunately I have spoken to many many Dr. s, especially in last 10 years with aging parents with serious health issues as well as a husband with heart disease. I have. NEVER met a more nasty, rude, egotistical, dr. Than Dr Dipalo. I called to get update on very ill mother , as my brother was a bit confused after speaking with Dr. Dr called me, I said ‘hello’ and from that moment on he accused, defended, berated, and screamed at me. I
Never did ask a question. He would not stop talking !!! I tried to placate him and start fresh by saying ‘ dr. , let’s start again, my brother was unclear on some of moms issues.......’ he never let me finish. Told me if my brother is confused why am I taking my frustration of my brother out on him ..... unbelievable ! He went on again. I told him I don’t deserve to be spoken to like this and he said ‘ well I will call patients MD. And then you need to find another Pulmonologist. He quit his very old and ill patient because of 1 , 3 minute phone conversation with her daughter. Please regard this seriously before using this man. By the way, FOOTNOTE : my sister in law told me 2 days prior that our mom thought he was rude to her when he came to her room, she said ‘ he accuse me of giving him the wrong phone number for SON ‘ I said it’s probably just mom.... NOPE. NASTY NASTY MAN !!!

I cannot begin to explain how rude this man and his office assistant were to me. Do not waste your time - there are much better doctors on Long Island. I would put 0 stars but the site won't let me.

He is one of the best Drs in his field
very Knowledgeable and fair
Some people may think he's tough but some people seem to forget he is the Dr.
The online "doctors" are just that
My partner of 25 years knew he was tough but knew he was saving her life
She loved Dr Di Palo and because of him I now know she was with me for a couple of years more
If you read this Dr You should know who this is and for you to let Margie be with me for a couple of years
I would recommend any one to see the Dr and know he is trying to save your life

My mom was treated by Dr. DiPalo at St. Catherine hospital. He prescribed an antibiotic for pnemonia but my mom had a heart issue not pneumonia. He never bothered to do CT Scan which would have shown no evidence of pneumonia. After taking the antibiotic for several days she developed C-Diff an died several days later. On the morning of the day my mom died he stated that he had a game plan an explained what the plan was to save her. He never carried out that plan an we never saw him again that day. He never came back that day to check on her. She died that night at 10:50. As you can see He does not care about his patients.

This doctor is extremely rude and unhelpful. I found his staff to support his rude behavior and policies. I would not recommend anyone to see him. It is bad enough when you are sick and need a doctor, you want a compassionate person to care for you and that is not him or his staff! I work in a doctor's office and would never treat my patients like I have been treated.

I can see why people think he's "rough around the edges," but the guy knows his stuff and is great at what he does. He's like the Judge Judy of medicine. He's tough, but fair. He's been great to me. Definitely goes above and beyond to make sure I'm getting the best care possible
