I had a very bad hip that would require a more complicated surgery than most. I had consulted with two other institutions only to find that they were not willing to take on this challenge. The surgeons there made it painfully obvious that they did not want to help. Each time I had shared my story to either a stranger or someone that I knew, I was referred to a Dr. Scott King from Arlington Orthopedics. I had other medical professionals state that this would be the surgeon for their own family members. My only hesitation was that I would have to work on a health issue as per insurance company. :-(
In addition, Dr King was so good and popular, I would have to wait months to schedule my surgery. But please understand that he is WORTH THE WAIT!!!
As I am reading past reviews, I see that a lot of people are looking for empathy, concern for the patient..... For me, I only needed that from the actual doctor who was dedicating his professional skills and plan to help me have a quality of life without pain. Dr. Scott King is all of those things and more. He truly cared about my unusual situation. He did not have to take my case like the other doctors from the other well-known institutions. However, he did! And I am very confident and blessed that he did a great job and the best job! I made the best decision with the help of many other folks in this area! In fact, I was approached by a lady in the waiting room to pre-op who was asking if I had Dr. King. I told her yes, and she told me that I was in the best hands. I couldn't agree more!
I will never be able to express appreciation to Dr. King from my family and me! I have also had great relations with the staff like, Kevin and the x-ray technicians.
We can't always control the attitudes of people in any industry. However, my importance is placed on the quality of care that you will receive. If this is also your goal, then Arlington Orthopedic should be your choice!

Very cold. Wouldn't answer any questions. Just kept saying "I don't know. I don't have a crystal ball", over and over. Left with no care and feeling very despondent. Horrible experience. Having a hard time trying another as he was recommended and then totally uncaring and even demeaning to my concerns. Never would go back.

I had total knee replacements for both knees done by a doctor at another practice. I was in constant pain but that doctor wasn't helpful. I saw Dr King for my pain and ended up having to get both knees revised. I am very grateful to Dr. King for alleviating my pain so I could get on with enjoying my life. In addition, I found Dr. King to be kind, humble and not so full of himself. I highly recommend Dr. King.

I had emergency knee surgery performed by Dr King. He was very kind and considerate before surgery and throughout my post op care. The only problem I had was with an uncompassionate phone lady while dealing with FMLA paperwork. Other than that the staff at Arlington was awesome. Especially the x-ray technician. PT staff has also been great!

When I first went to Dr King he advised that I not have surgery (A surgeon that didn't recommend surgery, whoa.) When I finally went back needing surgery he explained my options and gave me a recommendation but left the decision to me. As a surgeon he did a great job. I was out of the hospital in two days and walking a mile within a week. Three months later I was back at work as a mail carrier and within four months I was riding a bike 20 miles. By my anniversary date I had biked more than 2400 miles, including a five day trip from DC to Pittsburgh (320 miles).

I had a TKR in 2008, done by another surgeon. I suffered with pain & instability from day one of the TKR. I saw 3 other orthopedists, including one at the Hospital for Special Surgery in NYC, but none of them could give me a reasoned explanation for my pain & instability. I decided to see Dr. King. Dr. King did a thorough exam of my knee & diagnostic injection. After a discussion, it was decided the entire implant needed to be taken out - a total revision of the knee. He was spot-on with the call. My surgery was successful and I can already feel the difference in the stability of the knee, the knock-knee is gone & my gait is appropriate. Dr.King is extremely knowledgeable, highly skilled, easy to talk to, friendly, keeps his ego in-check & truly cares about his patients. I never felt like just a number with a knee attached to it with Dr. King. I highly recommend Dr. King for any knee or hip problems you may be experiencing...you won't be disappointed.
