I have been seeing Dr. Clamp for five years and recently she began misinterpreting my lab results and putting me on higher doses of thyroid medicine when I already had too much in my system. I went from being hypothyroid to hyperthyroid with a racing heart, tremors, irritability due to the med increase she ordered. Thank God my primary care doctor looked at my labs and weaned me off the meds before damage was done. While Dr. Clamp is lovely, I lost trust in her when she increased my meds when she should have been decreasing them . If she was not confused about my labs I wish she would have explained why the increase and explained the physical risks associated with this overdose.

After over 20 years of seeing endrocrinologists and never feeling well, I found Dr. Clamp who got me off synthetic thyroid meds and on natural treatments. One week after seeing her, I felt like I had in my 30's. I have followed her from Silver Spring to McLean and she is worth the sixty minute drive from my house.

I will not be continuing to see this doctor. Once she thinks she has a handle on your issues, she goes on autopilot, pays no attention if her treatment isn't working. She doesn't compare past and present labs, only interested in what's right in front of her today. You have to do it yourself if you care. She spends 10 minutes w you for $250-$350. Not counting lab costs.

for a doc whose specialty is thyroid disease, dr. clamp is completely in the dark. she switched me from NDT to synthetics -and after i fell into a horrible depression wanted to put me on antidepressants. she made no connection between the depression and the new rx. she'll sit there staring at your labs for a year and a day, yet has no idea how to interpret the results. after eight or nine months with her i finally moved on and found an excellent doc and am feeling much better. when my new doc saw all my previous labs he said it was clear my problem was severe adrenal insufficiency -which is common for thyroid sufferers. he couldn't understand how she could have missed it, ESPECIALLY after i asked specifically it that might be what was wrong. a thyroid patient herself, i should have ran when i first met her and she told me she feels sick every day. hindsight is 20/20.

I tried to make an appointment to see Dr. Clamp in September of 2012 and over the course of a week's attempts was not able to get even that far due to the extreme rudeness and unprofessionalism of her office staff. As this site limits reviews to only 1000 characters, I am unable to write a full description of the humiliating treatment I received over the telephone from Dr. Clamp's employees. For your own sake, please take the time to read my unrestricted review on vitals.com and Angie'sList.com for a complete explanation. Let my experience be a lesson to you...look elsewhere for your healthcare. You deserve to be treated well and to recover your health.

Unfortunately I have to agree with the comments about the rudeness of some of staff, the amount of money you pay that does not equal the amount of service you should get for the price, and the inability of Dr. Clamp to return phone calls. I am experiencing a side effect of either the medication or a worsening of symptoms, but I can't get a call-back from the doctor. It would be nice for doctors to recognize that most of us are just as busy in our own businesses, and we also have to make time to call our customers (which is what you are at this office, not a patient). Between the visits that take under 30 minutes (with a full price charge) and the lecture I keep getting from the staff that the doctor is too busy to return my phone call, this is not good. I don't know if this office realizes that between out of pocket costs for lab work and a 15 minute visit with the doctor, I'm paying out $600-$800 per visit. I think the truth is they don't care.

This is a really fine physician, so nice to find someone who is willing to take time, explain things, think creatively, answer phone calls and partners with patients rather than dictating to them!! I am really happy.

Dr. Clamp started me off on too high a dose of medication for thyroid which put me into hyperthyroidism. She starts too high & increases medication too fast. Her staff isn't very curtious either, especially on the telephone. It is also hard to get a call back from Dr. Clamp. My thyroid condition has become worse since seeing Dr. Clamp for the past 5 months. It is time for me to find a new doctor.

Dr. Clamp is amazing - she is thorough, professional and thoughtful. She calibrated a slight thyroid issue perfectly, and in so doing eliminated my menopause symptoms completely. I recommend her highly.

I loved seeing this doctor in her old Silver Spring office. It was an easy staff to work with and she was more accessible. Her new staff is often rude and sometimes it takes 4 phone calls just to relay a simple message. The girl at the front desk is always in a bad mood. The cost goes up each time I visit this McLean office. If you choose to go to a lab covered unles your plan, you end up being charged a huge amount for a "lab interpretation fee" (I.E. we need to make up the money somewhere!) I am looking for a new doctor and wish her office were better managed. While she has definitely help me with thyroid, she missed a number of other hormonal imbalances.
