Excellent Doctor. Dr Riaz is so very personable, very knowledgeable and a very excellent surgeon. I couldn't be more pleased with the results of a recent hip replacement.

He explained very little about my injury and rushed me out the door every time. All meetings were about two minutes long, and I had to wait at least an hour after my scheduled appointment time to be seen. He did not explain the results of my ultrasound or the particular treatment protocol, or offer me any options. His bed side manner was short and most times unfriendly, and the first meeting he was downright rude and arrogant. I felt on my own through my injury with no significant support from my doctor. I gave his knowledge rating poor as he did not discuss the treatment or my injury to any significant level.

Dr Riaz is a very professional and kind surgeon. Explained everything. Had total hip replacement was only in overnight. His nurse Jackie helpful and pleasant lady. (Great anesthetist by the way)

Great result from a complex hip replacement surgery. Done through the modified lateral approach and I am doing unbelievably good.

Excellent experience. Explained to me about the injury and it's future repercussions including possibility of development of arthritis. Provided me with advise to reduce the likelihood of arthritis with avoidance of high impact activities of running, keeping my weight in a certain range and do low impact exercises like swimming.
Thanks Doc for your insight and eye into the future and looking after my benefit in the long term.

Added insult to injury during this disappointing experience! My presenting issue resulting from an injury was dismissed; instead, the doctor looked at it as an opportunity to suggest I loose weight…. As if I hadn’t considered/tried before. I wasn’t there for a consult on arthritis (which has never been an issue) or weight loss but, for a consult and treatment for an injury completely unrelated to weight. Do doctors think fat people try to be fat? Or, that I don’t spend 90% of my day thinking/trying/obsessing about weight loss? Or, that it’s appropriate to dismiss real healthcare concerns because of weight? I would have been disappointed with the standard of care with or without the weight loss comment - it just added a little moral injury to the physical injury he did not provide care for. I will be seeking a second opinion and, will, as always, be trying to keep my weight in check.
