A year and 1/2 ago my two year old needed open heart surgery whoch was done by Dr. Hillel Laks at UCLA. Dr. Klitzner was her pediatric cardiologist during the months prior to surgery as well as in the succeeding months. He was and remains in my wife and my estimation a most compassionate, empathic, conscientious and knowledgable physician. We've felt tremendously well supported by his caring, open-mindedness and generosity with answers to any and all questions and concerns we've ever had. He's a gem!

Avoid this doctor! He's head of Cardiology at Mattel Children's, and shouldn't be. My teen found him cold, unsympathetic, and unprofessional. He blamed my child for his mistakes and told fibs to cover up his mistakes when he didn't really need to. For some reason, his other negative comments have been REMOVED! By him?! His agenda seems to be keeping his position at all costs. It's all about numbers and money with this guy. Avoid him! Yes, he went to a good school, but that certainly doesn't make him a good children's doctor.
