Dr. Gavin was incredibly passionate with my mother. I am grateful for the care that she received under his care and tok time to explain what he was doing at all times along the course of treatment.

Dr. Gavin is the most present and passionate doctors that I have ever met. He is truly invested in the well-being of his patients. He is also a brilliant surgeon. I would highly recommend him.

Dr Gavin insisted that stent grafts at knees are not a good idea, but that he would do a stent graft on my husband's left leg if we insisted and that he could do it in 2-1/2 hours on a spinal. His behavior - haughty, know-it-all, insulting - turned us off. So we went to Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN. At Mayo, the surgeon said a stent graft was not a good idea for the right leg because it would close off a viable artery but that it would work for the left leg. He did open surgery on general anesthesia on the right leg ( it took over six hours and turned out very well) and placed a series of three stents in the left leg. Dr Gavin also said a stent for the aneurysm on my husband's major aorta was not possible and that surgery was not an option (essentially leaving the aorta to burst, killing my husband), but the man at Mayo said a stent most certainly is possible and he plans to take care of the problem as soon as the aneurysm is big enough to demand treatment.
