My mothers was seeing Dr Berger for years, but at the time of her heart attack he was on vacation. My 77 then year old mother, formed an Atrial Fibrillation in North Shore, while she was treated for a heart attack, after her stent was put in. We’re very great full to God because too many things just went wrong in the hospital. Besides that the nurse didn’t put the IV correctly, mom complained that she was in sever pain and her arm hurt from where the needle was put in. It took two days for them to finally bring in another nurse who only did IV’s to see what’s wrong. The nurse said she could have formed an infection for this long. Dr Berger didn’t contact my mom the entire time she was hospitalised. It would have been nice to at least call her the moment he came back, but he was too busy. My mother still wanted to see him and remain at Northshore. But exactly one year ago 10/25/21, when she complained that this time she’s feeling exactly like she did before the heart attack. He didn’t order any tests, but her internet’s had ordered the tests to be done immediately that day at North Shore in HP. I have to say they were great in that department. We went to Dr Berger for results and he congratulated her, everything looked great, ultrasound of the heart, labs, etc. I specifically asked if he’s sure all tests were done and asked if the stent needs to be looked at, he didn’t reply. Not even two months later after she died. Cardiologists order their patience tests that are in regards to the heart not internet’s. He didn’t order anything only blood work. If I look back I shouldn’t have not trusted him, he should have looked into it, if there’s a blood clog or a stent that needs to be replaced again. I was the one doing all the research to see if there can be anything else, and took her to the internist and bagged for further tests. He should have checked all the boxes, he’s a cardiologist.
