Instead of investigating why my bladder was having issues after having a kidney stone, just accused me of lying to get opiates. I Never even asked for any. Advice was just hold it and your nerves will adjust. Terrible and judgemental. Do not recommend at all.

This guy wouldn't even give me 5min of his time after surgery to see how I was doing or how the surgery went. Was in post op for 2 1/2 days and never once came in to check on me.

Dr. Hofer misdiagnosed me. I had a stone in a ureterocele, which he misdiagnosed as an enlarged prostate. I scheduled with Dr. to remove the stone. During the 1st surgery to remove the stone, he didn't remove it cuz it was in a ureterocele, which he knew about from the CT scan, but apparently didn't know it contained the stone. When I asked why he didn't remove it, he said cuz he hadn't apprised me of the risks of removing a stone from a ureterocele. I signed a document authorizing him to take care of unforeseen issues that may arise during surgery. Also, why didn't he simply take 2 minutes prior to surgery to advise there was a stone and a ureterocele, and if the stone happened to be in the ureterocele, obtain permission to take care of that. Therefore, the unnecessary surgery could have been prevented by either a correct diagnosis to begin with, or by taking 2 minutes to obtain permission to deal with the stone if per chance it were in the ureterocele. Avoid this Dr. at all costs!!!

He misdiagnosed me. I had a stone in a ureterocele, which he misdiagnosed as an enlarged prostate. He concedes to the misdiagnosis, and that it caused months of trauma involving interrupted urine flow and blood in my urine, an unnecessary surgery and me to be put in a position where I had to make a decision on whether or not to get a Transurethral Resection of the Prostate (TURP)(his recommendation for me based on his misdiagnosis). The risks associated with this surgery (which as it turns out was never necessary since I did not have an enlarged prostate) are impotence, retrograde ejaculation, bleeding, infection, blood clots, scarring of the urethra and absorption of fluid during the procedure. He then failed to remove a stone when I went under anesthesia for the purpose of removing the stone, and feels like he did nothing wrong.

I have been very sick and in and out of Sanford. He helped me be able to start feeling better. I guess the best I have felt in a while. He is an awesome doctor and I would recommend him to any one. I explained everything that was going to happen to me. He even took time to answer questions on how this would effect my pregnancy. He made sure I knew every risk and advantage of this.

Is in a hurry. Doesn't want to spend anymore time with you then he has to. All busy. Doesn't take the time to explain all the plus and minus's of different treatments for prostate cancer. However I would highly recommend his work.
