Biography
Dr. Chris Taylor is an OBGYN in Harrison, Arkansas. As a gynecologist, Dr. Taylor has been taking care of women’s health care needs for over 20 years. Dr. Taylor grew up in the small community of Russellville, Arkansas, completed medical school at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, and went on to complete his residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. At the conclusion of residency, Dr. Taylor was recruited by several large practices in bigger cities but felt the pull to return to the small-town roots of his home state. He wanted to build his practice in a close-knit community, not too different from the one he grew up in, located in the heart of the beautiful Ozark Mountains, where he could fulfil a tremendous need by providing care in an underserved area. Despite practicing in a small community, it has always been important to Dr. Taylor that his patients have access to the same advanced therapies commonly found in large metropolitan areas and his practice has always focused on staying at the forefront of minimally invasive gynecological procedures. Dr. Taylor was the first OGBYN in Arkansas to perform a total laparoscopic hysterectomy in an outpatient setting, allowing patients to go home just 2 - 3 hours after surgery and go back to work in just ten to fourteen days, a significant improvement over open laparoscopies. Today, over 99% of his hysterectomies are performed in this manner. This philosophy also applies to his treatment of overactive bladder (OAB), and he has implemented a defined care pathway for his patients, based on AUA guidelines, that provides appropriate patients access to a minimally invasive procedure called sacral nerve stimulation that has been proven in clinical trials to be more effective in treating the symptoms of OAB than medications. It’s a simple outpatient procedure that can be performed in Dr. Taylor’s Medicare-certified ambulatory surgery center, and this therapy also offers a 5 minute test that allows a patient to trial the therapy for 3 – 4 days to help decide if the therapy will work for them long term. After 20+ years of treating female bladder problems, Dr. Taylor has now treated over 25,000 women, performed over 2,500 Sacral Nerve Stimulation Procedures, and is the #1 provider of this therapy in the entire world. He is now accepting new patients and remains focused on his goal of providing the same advanced therapies commonly found in large metropolitan areas but doing it with a warm and personal small-town touch.
