Dr. T is the best, most knowledgeable and professional doctor I have ever known and I am 75. He has turned my life around 180 degrees over the past 15+ years. I am currently out of the country and we conduct our appointments on real time video. I wouldn't dream of changing doctors. Please don't ever retire! His knowledge of mental illness, medications, side effects, interactions with other meds, vitamins, his knowledge of nutrition and his kind kind personality. He has never been 2 minutes late. He has never been anything but completely present and attentive. He has saved my life and continues to guide me through my illness and my life. Can't say enough wonderful things about him.

Harmful and careless prescribing!

The "care" I received from Dr. T was damaging. As a patient of his for many years, I was prescribed HARM with high doses of benzodiazepines (tranquilizers) during the entire time he treated me. His irresponsible prescribing has resulted in LONG TERM damage/trauma to my body, brain and psyche. Damage that I am now working through with the help of other medical providers.

Upon starting me on benzodiazepines, Dr. T failed to provide any information about the dangers, risks and lengthy withdrawal process that these medications entail. He failed to inform me that these meds are highly addictive. He also failed to monitor me for, or inform me of, ANY tolerance symptoms to the medication I was experiencing. Over the course of many years, he failed monthly to notice and inform me of any of these risks/side effects. Instead, he kept increasing my medication dose while telling me benzodiazepines were necessary (!!?) for me to take. This is completely false and inexcusable behavior from a doctor.

Since making the decision to leave Dr. T's "care", I have spoken with several other medical professionals. All have been shocked by the dosage as well as the length of time benzodiazepines were prescribed to me. All of them stated that this medication is for short term use only!

The tapering process to quit the benzodiazepines has been exhausting, traumatic and physically painful. This is a serious medication that should've come with serious discussions from Dr. T, as well as serious informed consent!

Lastly, the "psychotherapy" I received from Dr. T was irresponsible. While Dr. T was prescribing maxed out doses of benzodiazepines, I was advised to partake in psychotherapy with him to work through life issues and process unresolved trauma. In retrospect, I cannot fathom how he ever thought I could process painful emotions, PTSD and trauma while being prescribed an extremely high dose of tranquilizers? As a result of this unsafe treatment plan, all of the therapy I received (several years worth) was completely ineffective and useless. It was also unsafe and toxic to me. I will also warn that this doctor's nervous system isn't regulated enough to be working with patients, especially patients with PTSD and trauma. Guilt trips, vocal outbursts, and bullying from a doctor / psychotherapist are not therapeutic at all. Was not a safe environment.

I had had several moments in my life where I sought out help for anxiety and depression. Looking back now I see that they were merely band aids . With Dr. T, I found a true professional who addressed my fears, my ongoing depression in a holistic way. My work with him has led to a better self knowledge and through that, to change the way I respond to events in my life. I am definitely in a better place. I finally feel like the master of my fate, not the victim . That I am here today speaks to his knowledge , his insight. I would highly recommend Dr. T to anyone seeking counseling or medication management.

Dr. Trivisano is an excellent Psychiatrist and treats you as an individual and not your particular diagnosis. Dr. T is very knowledgeable and has been very insightful.
If I listen closely enough to what he says he always points me in the right direction to work through my past. He is easy to talk to and he is very attentive. He is straight forward and knows the kind of therapy that works for my PTSD. I would and have recommended Dr. Trivisano to anyone who needs counseling or medication management.

I have suffered from depression, off and on, all my life, but Dr. T. was able to guide me to a much more fulfilling life. Dr. T. not only listens, he hears. He has a great command of the pharmacology of psychiatry, including factual knowledge of so-called supplements that are on the market. I am skeptical of all of these due to my own past experiences, but his knowledge of the science that is, and is not, there helped allay my fears. His advice was also helpful for non-pharmacologic treatments for depression.
As a physician myself, I was extremely impressed with his practice style and his wealth of knowledge. I can recommend him completely without reservation.

Dr. Trivisonno is one of the best doctors I've ever known! He is so knowledable and humble. I've been seeing him for many years and between conversations he has repetually given me the same advice over and over. Sometimes explained more abbrassively and other times he would just give me subtle reminders. It wasn't until some years later-trial and error that I finally realized the advice he had been giving me all along were the answers I needed to uproot my life in a more positive direction. I would take his advice with health, love, addiction, depression, finances-you name it! Very well read and all around a great human.

Thank you Dr. T!

For years, I had tried to find some relief from anxiety and panic attacks by seeing several therapists and psychologists. No one helped me dig deep enough to find the root cause of my symptoms. Last year a good friend suggested that I see Dr. Trivisonno, and I am so glad she did. From the first appointment, I knew he was someone who I could work seriously with. I have been seeing him for fifteen months, and he has opened my life for me. Every session brings new insights and revelations about how my anxiety has been my broken coping skill for my childhood PTSD problems. My anxiety level has declined dramatically, and my compassion for myself has increased. I am learning that I don’t need to be in the constant grip of anxiety and panic. I don’t have to doubt myself. There has been some heavy serious hard work, but Dr. T has been knowledgeable and patient in guiding me through the process. He is easy to talk to, understanding yet firm, and has a great laugh at the appropriate times. I recommend him to anyone willing to do the hard work of looking into their darkness to find the light.

I have been seeing Dr. Trivisonno for two years and am enjoying my life for the first time. My family life is stable, I'm back to work for the first time in 14 year, and am no longer overwhelmed by anxiety and depression. Dr. T is my 7th therapist and the only one who has ever helped me. I've referred several people to Dr. T, one of which has completely turned her life around. I wish there were more therapists like Dr. T but from personal experience I can safely say that most therapists lack the ability to handle cases like mine. Complex PTSD doesn't magically disappear but I 'm proof that you can survive it, manage it, and begin living a good life with the right mental health care. Dr. T is the best doctor I've come across, I just wish I'd fund him at twenty instead of forty. If you're dealing with trauma and other mental health disorders don't waist another day. Call Dr. T and get your life back. I did and I will always be grateful to him.

I was the last patient he was to see for the day, and my appointment started 30 minutes late. I overheard that he was there since the early morning to deal with billing. He looked stressed and just had his head down asking me the same questions that was already on the formed that I filled out. He was just not focused and he definitely wanted to leave the office. For example, I mentioned I play soccer 3x a week…a few minutes later he asked me if I worked out.

I felt he didn't listen to anything that I said, and he only piggybacked on something that he inferred was probably the problem. The questions he asked were random and had no train of thought. I believe he wrote me off as some young bimbo that wants to be ‘happy.’ I honestly should've left after 10 minutes of my session because it was literally a waste of time.

I am currently seeing 2 therapists to maintain my PTSD and anxiety; however I am not the extreme case. He didn't ask how those sessions are going, or asked if I made any progress in those sessions. He just assumed that I was incompetent at my job and a severe case. He immediately prescribed xanax after listening for 30 minutes. He spoke to me as if I never heard of what PTSD or anxiety before. ANYONE could've made anything up and the dude would've prescribed the extremes. My therapist did not recommend this guy and I found him on Psychology Today—mistake. STAY AWAY.

....However Wini at the front desk is awesome! She is literally the saving grace of this practice. She actually listened to what I had to say when I spoke to her on the phone. She was extremely professional, and she made a good impression!
