Like many OB GYNs, this doctor is only concerned with women as fertile incubators. Asked me if I had/wanted kids, which I don't and never have, and then proceeded to ask why not... As if that wasn't bad enough, she allowed a MALE doctor/nurse inside the examination room without my consent or at least asking if I would have been okay with it in the first place. I specifically went to a female OB GYN to avoid this.

Reading other comments, I see that the same doctor has also treated other patients with even worse insensitivity. DO NOT GO HERE.

Dr Shannon has been my doctor (obgyn) for a long time and she is the sweetest person! She delivered one of my kids and I wouldn’t ever go anywhere else!

I have been seeing this doctor for about a year now, due to her being the only doctor that accepts my insurance and is close by. To make a long story short, I have a history of serious medical issues that were not being addressed by "doctor" Burton-shannon whatsoever. She even went as far to tell me that my two previous gynos falsely diagnosed me and that I no longer had this serious medical issue and that it went away by itself. Clearly the condition I have does not go away and requires surgery at some point and I was even told so by my previous gynos. On top of that issue I am currently pregnant and have received no medical treatment for my complications that I am having with this pregnancy. She will not do lab work routinely like I have always had even with my previous pregnancies. Never prescribed prenatal vitamins and would not refill my regular meds (which are safe to take during pregnancy) that I desperately need to insure a healthy baby. I tried to give her several chances and told her several times about my past medical history but feel like it was blown off. This "doctor" is only concerned about a paycheck and does not care about her patients well-being. Now that I am seeing a new gyno. I am getting all the proper care I need and feel so much better about mine and my baby's health. Please do not see this "doctor" she needs to have her license revoked.

She's very very rude and hateful. She's not punctual at all I waited 2 hours just to come to my appt that I had scheduled a month ahead of time. She doesn't spend much time with patients. She won't listin to any concerns the patient may have. I'm having severe complications with my iud and she refuses to take it out. She says "Theres no reason to take it out" She's not confidential. Not a good Dr. for a expecting mother either. Please go some where else!

She is a very hateful doctor. When I was in the hospital right out of ICU she called me and cursed at me for no reason. My hospital stay was in another country and had nothing to do with her! She is your best friend as long as you pack food into her. I have been her patient for the last 16 years. She done ok in the beginning as a PCP after leaving her Carthage office with Dr. Pickett she became onory and mean. I have heard her curse other patients. She got to when I called her about something she would answer and say "WHAT DO YOU WANT?" Very unprofessional. I recommend if you need an OBGYN doc that you look elsewhere. At this point i would hate to take my pets to her. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED! She really let me down.

I was supposed to have my first appointment today at 1 o'clock. I showed up at 1 and was told they were late getting back from lunch. At 1:15 I was able to stand in line to wait my turn at the window to get my paperwork. I received my paperwork and filled it out, none of which was medical history by the way, after I filled out my paperwork I was finally called back at 2 o'clock, 1 hour after my initial appointment. At 2 o'clock I had my blood drawn and was told to disrobe and wait in the room. By 300 I still had not seen the doctor yet. I listened to her a whole lot outside the door boasting about how she was Dr Burton and telling ridiculous stories to a coworker none of which were medically necessary for patient care and could have easily waited till social hour. At 3 o'clock I finally got dressed and left the office. This was the most unprofessional, rude ,egotistical, slow and completely inappropriate doctors office I've ever been to. Do not waste your time do not go to this doctor she is horrible terrible completely unprofessional and I would actually be concerned for anybody that puts their health in her hands.

She is rude,unprofessional and lacks bedside manners.She is knowledgable but does not listen to her patinets and does not explain things at all..She makes fun of her staff and her patinets openly in the hallway.You can hear all of it while you wait in your room to be seen.I will not be going back to her ever again.

I love Dr. Shannon! I've been a patient of hers for three years now. She has even done my hysterectomy. Every visit the staff are friendly and the office is neat. I've never had to wait longer than 20 minutes to be seen. She does seem rushed sometimes, but I think it's her sweet and hyper bubbly personality and just the way she is, also some people are just fast talkers. Also she is a obgyn, medical emergencies do happen. One appointment she had to rush because she had just found out a patient was in labor. She has always explained everything quite well to me and we had been down every avenue before surgery was an option last year. During my yearly check up last week again I discussed a problem I was having and she found it and fixed it. Describing it all to me twice and she was very funny, nice, and easy to talk to as usual. I highly recommend her!

The staff was very nice but cant say the same about the doctor. I saw her once all info I received came from the nurse. I was also told that I was 5 weeks. I called back a week later to get a list of restriction for my employer because I also have back problems and she referred me to a physical therapist who was told that I was 10 to 12 weeks and this was a week later. On my last visit with the therapist I was told that I am no w 16 weeks and I have only been going there for 2 weeks now. Dr. Shannon is not the doctor for me or anyone else in that case. I will not be going to my next apt with her I am seeking another who I feel will have good bedside manners and is polite to their patient's and their staff. My wait time was an hour and thirty. I got off work early and could have worked a whole day. I will not recommend her to anyone not even my enemy. That doctor makes me feel like I may have to go outside of Lebanon for the care that I need. wasted time, money, and effort with this woman
