I was his student for a brief period. He was a fantastic doctor and teacher. Hope he is retired now and having some time for himself.

Dr.Ankenbauer has been amazing. He has helped me understand and work through having a stroke at a young age. He knows his stuff and is happy to answer all my questions. He will be missed dearly.

To the idiot below who stated YOGA for PTSD. Dr Ankenbauer is only trying to find a way to keep you off drugs. You would be the first to call him a pill pusher if he went the other route. Dr. Ankenbauer has always been excellent with me. I will really miss him when he retires.

Yoga for PTSD... Do yoga for PTSD.... not even a referral to counseling for domestic violence survivors, just do yoga and everything will be okay.

Upside to the Castlegar Medical Associates, you can see other doctors in the office who actually practice medicine.

This Doctor listens intently to my concerns and if he is not sure, he will always look it up on his cell phone. Any time I ask him to refer me to another doctor, he does not hesitate. He is extremely knowledgeable about his field. I have had specialists ask me where did you get that information and I tell them from Dr Ankenbauer. Even they are surprised on the about of knowledge this man has. I am very luck to have him as a doctor.

Fantastic Doctor. I hope he never leaves, I would be lost without him. He actually saved my life. He is always willing to send you where ever to find the answer. Just a great guy.

I do not agree with the negative ratings at all. I always found Dr. Ankenbauer to be very professional, courteous and knowledgeable. He referred me to other people on numerous occasions where required.

This man does not care to help people unless he can solve the problem himself. If he must ask for help or refer, he takes an incredibly long time and then disagrees with specialists recommendations, while offering nothing as an alternative solution. I agree with the review below that he "bulldozes" his opinions and belittles elderly patients. Do not see this doctor if you want any quality of life! He does not demonstrate a duty to care, or due diligence. If the problem is one he cannot fix, he will simply brush you off and ignore your concerns, send you on your way feeling worse than when you got there. This is not patient care. This is pompous neglect and abuse of power.

He has always been concerned about the welfare of his patience minds and bodies. His staff is ok but he is the gem!
