I had a routine colonoscopy which went well until 7 hours later when I developed chills and fever. I went to the emergency room and was admitted for a raging bacteria infection. A cat scan showed no perforation of the colon, but scrapes and infection where a polyp was removed. Result was two days in the hospital recovering.
