Brought daughter with 'classic case of mononucleosis". Fatigue, fever, severe sore throat, swollen spleen, negative strep test, and swollen lymph nodes in throat. Doctor spent less than 3 minutes with child. I kept offering information during appointment-- doctor ignored and DID NOT LISTEN. Seemed to be in a big hurry. Despite negative strep test result-- diagnosed her with classic strep! Took daughter to her regular pediatrician few days later, did bloodowork which showed mono. Daughter is very active in sports-- this misdiagnosis could have resulted in ruptured spleen. I feel if doctor would have listened and not been in such a big hurry- her diagnosis would not have been missed.
