Told me flat out he didn’t believe I was experiencing eye pain and headaches and that I must be wrong about my experiences. When I mentioned I was worried about glaucoma he told me it doesn’t matter until I have it and it’s “too much hassle” to test for. Skipped over half of my partner’s exam and told him that he also didn’t believe him about his symptoms. When we told him that the letters on the reading test were too blurry to make out, he said just guessing was good enough. Told both of us our prescriptions weren’t worth filling because it “wouldn’t help anyway”. When we expressed displeasure he treated us like we were overreacting and purposely making the appointment difficult.
Overall, massive waste of money.

Staff discriminates don’t ever go!!! Unprofessional, gave wrong appointment time which I had to wait 2 months for. I had an easier time getting my blood taken than getting through the front door. I wore a face covering and it was not up to their standard. The front staff then touched another appropriate face covering in which I put on, but due to health problems I pulled it away a bit at the bottom, but staff was rude and said I could not keep it away…. Still covering my mouth fully. They then sad I’d need to reschedule, but why? I had the mask on- for their “safety” they had theirs on for their safety, but my money is good enough even if they don’t consider my health also.

Staff is unprofessional and incompetent. Messed up original order for glasses and I waited weeks for them and then recently when I damaged the frames, messed up the order again. No concern for the inconvenience and/or the headaches from wearing old glasses. Horrible service. Doctor is okay but totally missed a portion of the exam that wasn't working for him - just moved on. This place just cannot seem to get its act together and I'm not willing to risk my eyesight to folks who cannot get a simple order placed - twice in a row. I ended up going online, found the frames and ordered them - in about 10 minutes, not 10 days. Oh - and at about 40% of what they would have charged. Expect to receive them tomorrow. This is one of those franchised corporation setups........I am left with the opinion that $$$$$$ is the main purpose and patient care/convenience/safety is a really, really distant second, third or 100th . I will be avoiding all FYI Doctors locations in future and this one particularly.

Dr Kellam prescribed contact lenses that did not work at all for me...almost caused an accident while driving. I told him about this quite traumatic experience and received contacts that worked appropriately . Next visit 1 year later he prescribed the same wrong contacts. I have been wearing contact lenses for 25 years and have never before had a problem. Really worrisome to have the same mistake repeated twice. Also, he told me that my son would need glasses soon at the age of 6. He’s 23 years old now and has always had 20/20 vision. So just be cautious.

Dr. Kellam is incredibly personable. He went the extra mile for me in has efforts to get a surgical procedure done in a more timely fashion than was the norm. Bravo !
