I ca#e into the hospital after cutting #y wrists ho#eless with nowhere to go. I #et with doctor pachal twice. Both ti#es he wouldn"t let #e speak because he had already looked through #y history and considered #e to be the sa#e person I was according to doctors notes. He didn't listen to #e and see#ed very cold. After being in the psych ward for one day,he decided to throw #e to the wolves. #y #eds were off I was suicadal and had nowhere to go but he didn't care. I found hi cold and distant. I definetely feel he's too left brained with no sense of co#passion or e#pathy. I didn't like hi# . If your in the duncan area and need help fro# so#eone who genuinely cares try to get in touch with DR. Dale #cderott. Pachal has shown #e that he does not care about you. I was at #y lowest point ever when I saw hi# and he rejected #e. Look for anybody but hi#. Thanks peace and love

I had the unfortunate experience of working with this man. He was often rude and highly insensitive to patients and other staff. He was insulting, and tended to listen to gossip heard rather than forming his own opinions. He was selective in his care and concern of others and particularly was fond of blond women. If you weren't blond... forget it! I agree with the negative comments. Should NEVER have become a doctor!

I saw Dr Pachal in July 2009 after countless months working with a therapist. I cried in the office after the visit. He was sincerely so helpful, acknowledged the difficult time I have had until diagnosis, outlined supports, recommended literature for me, seemed genuinely interested in my well being. It was the first time I really felt I was listened to. Compassionate. I have moved over an hour away but will see him again when I need to. Great doc.

Really surprised by some of these comments. Was referred to Pachal this month (Nov 2010) after seventeen (17!) years of being passed around the disinterested "I only have 15 minutes" medical industry. Now I finally feel like maybe I am going to get the accurate, well-thought-out help I need. He listened for an hour and a half of my rambling (he had extra time due to a cancellation), and made succinct and intutive remarks, suggestions, questions, and conclusions. *Very* knowledgeable. Took time to explain several different options for meds, and asked what my opinion was, etc etc. I left feeling much more educated about my condition, and the combo of meds he Rx'ed are working a lot better for me than my old prescription was. Looking forward to my next appointment. My reccomendation: give him a try.....if u don't like him, you can always go elsewhere.

I saw Dr. Pachal three times. The last two times he saw me for only 20 minutes. In 20 minutes he likened my depression to a sore knee! When I questioned him he got defensive and condescending with me. Each time, it triggered my depression to deepen. I thought psychiatrist where suppose to help with depression? At at a loss what to do now. I feel the mental health "industry" has left me out in the cold. As for Dr. Pachal. I don't feel he should be dealing with vulnerable patients.

I agree with others who have left negative comments. I didn’t respond to his treatment so he dumped me as a patient, leaving me in worse shape than I was when I began seeing him. He intimidates, bullies, and ridicules as well as being very rude if you dare to question him. He does not listen once he has made up his mind. He has a he has a huge ego and likes to hear himself speak. I have a serious but common mental illness. I am rating him as unknowledgeable because on three occasions, instead of helping, he actually triggered depression. I am being treated by another doctor who i feel is more competent and understanding.

I saw Dr. Pachal on a weekly or bi-weekly basis for 2 years and continue to see him on an as- needed basis. I find him to be very knowledgeable, intuitive, understanding, and helpful. He works attentively with me on my issues until I fully understand their effects. He taught me how to recognize triggers and effective ways to resolve, cope, and/or deal with future occurrences of those or similar issues. He counselled me on how to change my negative thinking. He works diligently to find the right combination of meds, always willing to go back to the drawing board when they aren’t achieving the desired effect. While Dr. Pachal is blunt and tough when the situation warrants, he always listens to me and treats me with compassion and respect. He has a wonderful sense of humour which can bring me back to reality and/or lighten the mood by replacing tears with laughter. Because of Dr. Pachal's counselling, I am still alive and have emerged a nicer, happier person than before.

This doctor put me at ease right away and listened carefully. He gave me excellent feedback, and was thoroughly professional. I left feeling positive about my future, thanks to him.

Let me just say....don't go here. I needed help and it (the helper) had an attitude. I was asked to leave when I asked pointed questions. OMG.
