Run, don't walk away from Dr. Sue Kafali. Danger, Danger.

The absolute worst experience

Terrible patient service. I had scheduled an appointment a MONTH ago (meaning I gave my insurance information and everything 1 month ago). I have severe endometriosis and wanted someone with specialty, trusting the reviews I read about Kafali, I decided it was worth waiting almost a month. I had my appointment today and after 30 min of waiting in an EMPTY room, I was told Kafali would not be able to see me. "She does not see patients as a PCP, if she did we would have so many more patients and that's not what we want." Mind you, I confirmed with my insurance prior and during my visit and they said it was okay, heck even my insurance card has her listed as my doctor, everything on my end checks out. The insurance representative told me she was breaching the contract she had with Cigna and filed a report on it. I simply do not understand why I was not told one month ago when I made my appointment and provided all my information. I work and go to school full time, not only did I have to wait a month with constant pain and discomfort, I also had to take time off today just to be left empty-handed with a pathetic excuse. Please go elsewhere, there are plenty of other considerate doctors, Kafali even had the nerve to call the front desk to tell them she wouldn't see me - she didn't even bother to come out and talk to me.

As a 1st time pregnant person, I always felt in the dark about what certain tests were for, and what I could expect as far as a “birth plan.” I was never given any info about exactly where I would deliver, and always felt confused about what to expect at future appointments. Always felt rushed out.

She is ver unprofessional, she was my wife's doctor with our second child. She never listens, never follow up her patient. When my wife had a csection she was on a vacation and another doctor covered her up. The doctor who covered up told us to come her after 1 week to take the stitches off but we we went there found out that pir insurance were not cavered by them. We called to Kafalis ofis they gave us appiontment for 4 days later but the other doctor told us to take stitches off in 1 week. Kafali didn't explain anything, instead she started blamin us not to call her, in this situtaion she should have follwed up with other doctor about her patiens. Because we were listening the other doctor, we came to her office to talk but ahe never listens, even though she screams she blames you that u r screaming. She ended up refused to see my wife, left my wife in the middle with stitches not taken off just after 1 week of surgery. What a human.
We are shock that we are living in this kind of world with this kind of people.
Please stay away from her.

Nice office and the staff was friendly. Dr. Kafali was able to see me maybe 10-15 minutes after my scheduled time which was pretty good given my previous experience w my past OBGYN. She was professional in the exam room and answered my handful of questions in a informative and caring manner, and was generally friendly/engaging. This was just an annual visit and I am new to the city, but have no doubt that she'll be my obgyn for years to come.

Dr. Kafali is an extraordinary doctor. She is full of knowledge and compassion and has answered every one of my million questions. I just went through the horrible experience of finding out that I had miscarried my first child and had to go through labor and delivery even though I knew I would not be bringing home a baby. Dr. Kafali saw us through this and was in my hospital room 20 minutes after the delivery to provide me comfort, help explain everything she could, and help give me incredible hope for the future. She shed tears with us for our situation but made sure to give us so much hope at the same time. I fully believe that under her excellent care we will soon be experiencing a successful pregnancy and live birth. I would recommend Dr. Kafali to anyone and everyone who needs an exceptional OBGYN. Her staff is excellent and her office is soothing. She is prompt and professional. Words and ratings can not fully describe how great she is.

I don't usually post reviews, but after reading the one from 3-23-12 I feel compelled to give my 2 cents. I've been seeing her for a few years now, and have always been made to feel comfortable, and appreciate the fact that she has been quite pointed with me on a couple specific issues...I guess i can see how that could seem "judgemental", but to me that is only someone showing me that they care about my health. Through my pregnancy, c section, and one more recent experience she has been professional and kind. I highly recommend her.
