Dr. Ponce was extremely kind, spent time educating my daughter on the importance of good dental hygiene in an approp. way that a 7 yr. old would understand. He asked us both if we had any questions and made us feel important during the visit. ; -)

My 8-year-old had a filling at Dr. Daniel Ponce's office. I didn’t take his advice on a sedation, since I had holdback on it and my son had done it without sedation before. When starting, my son just raised his arm a little and the doctor jumped right into conclusion that my son was not cooperating. I agreed to pay extra and use material requiring less invasion. Also told my son not to move, which he listened but just made a few Ah. Dr. Ponce told him if he kept making noises, he couldn't go on and he knew it's not hurting. When my son answered question with nods or hums but not yes or no, Dr. Ponce threw a lecture on us saying how an 8-year-old should’ve been able to ‘communicate’ well. We left his office so annoyed. I wonder what he’d expect if his speeches told a kid nothing but “something’s wrong with you”. Being a pediatric dentist should be more than drilling holes and filling’em up. Without patience and understanding, robots might be more suitable patients for this doctor.
