In the last 9 months I have had Carpal Tunnel Open Surgery on both of my hands. Both times Dr.Putnam has been my surgeon. Dr.Putnam is a complete and outstanding professional in his field. From my first appointment on, he answered my questions and then some. Dr.Putnam explained things in terms that were clear and very easy to understand. He is somewhat soft spoken, but has a good sence of humor. However, it's very clear that his focus is on bettering the health of whomever is in his care. I would, without a second thought, encourage anyone to see Dr.Putnam. In fact, my husband went just yesterday for an appointment with Dr.Putnam. One more thing about him....he looks you right in eye both when he speaks to you, and you speak to him.....that goes a long way with me. Excellent doctor, and I believe an even better man.

i'm not certain online reviews have any real value, and I don't even like leaving feedback on Ebay. So, I'm hesitant to give legitimacy to any rating site by adding comment, but for those who find this sort of thing helpful, I'll do it anyway. I had two appointments with Dr. Putnam, and I think in each case he was extremely helpful, very knowledgeable,skilled, and professional. I have no reason not to recommend him to others with orthopedic problems.

I have been seeing Dr. Matthew Putnam since August, 1995, Dr. Matthew Putnam performed a surgery on my right elbow. It was for a “revision of a failed right total elbow arthroplasty with bone grafting that was previously performed by Dr. BF Morrey at Mayo in Rochester. Dr. Putnam's work was superb and I have had a virtually pain free functioning arm for years. In October, 2007, I noticed a drainage from the right elbow and. The lab found infected staff bacteria.Dr. Putnam performed a surgery for the joint distortion. The surgery for the revision was performed at the Fairview University Medical Clinic. I am continuing a follow up with Dr. Putnam; he is very patient and has not given up on my complicated elbow joint due to a recurrence of infection. He is courage’s and works tirelessly. I have been seeing Dr. Putnam and his nurse for 4 years now. Each time he has been very thorough and he wont say what might be wrong he gets the tests and finds out WHAT IS WRONG. He has performed a complicated wrist reconstructive surgery and was thorough and reasearched my medical conditions. EDS & Factor 8 Deficient & Low Immune system and he was very well prepared and understanding in performing the procedure. Also Dr. Putnam doesnt just do surgery there is a lot of thought and practice involved. I Trust Dr. Putnam and I will always in his decisions. I know its one opinion but the field of medicine is also known as Practice and he is a normal guy and makes mistakes as well and shouldn't be criticized so deeply for a waiting room incident. How did the actual surgery go? Was it an unknown procedure and at least he attemped to do his best instead of pushing you aside and lettign you just deal with it. A+ Doctor and A+ nurse (McGinnity)

Did not talk to me or wife after surgery, then lied to me and said he did speak to my wife. My wife had to get the recovery room nurses to call the resident at home to find out how the surgery went and for instructions for what to do at home.
