She’s been a fantastic eye specialist for 4 generations of my family including my 99 yr old father. She’s been one of only a few doctors I totally trust. She’s kind, funny, and very professional. Some of our problems have been very serious, btw.

Annette Sims is rude, dismissive, and refused to answer
any/all of my post-op questions. So glad I immediately transferred care to OHSU.
They literally saved me, my vision and I'm treated like my vision truly matters. I would recommend not going to Annette Sims, I'm sorry I ever did.
I will gladly drive to Portland anytime.

i have been seeing Dr. Sims for several years and I agree with others that she is short tempered and doesn't really like questions from the patient. I think she is somewhat defensive when questioned. Then again, the office I visit is somewhat of a "Puppy Mill" so I have to consider the stress levels of the office and staff. My visit today was as usual. I misunderstood her questions and was immediately assailed with her defensive counters. Not the first time.

Thankfully, I only see her twice a year.

Dr Sims is a great listener, HEARS what I say in spite of being a rapid mover. She is Humorous and good natured and I actually leave my appointments with her feeling GOOD about her treatment plan for me and the time she spends with me. She is part of one of the LARGEST practices of its kind in our area. I have NO difficulty whatsoever relating to this wonderful practitioner.

Dr. Sims told me to come back if a floater got worse. When I returned 7 months later, she said, "What do you want me to do about it?" She is consistently short-tempered, perfunctory and brief in her exams, and brushes off questions. For several years, I asked about taking eye vitamins, and she dismissed this. Turns out it would have made a HUGE difference for the condition I was diagnosed with a week later. Over the years she has alternated between rude and slightly nice. But her indifference will cost me my sight. Don't bother seeing this one, not worth the risk.

Mom had her glaucoma "treated" by this "doctor" who thinks she's better than actually good doctors. She had an extremely rude and curt disposition and absolutely no bedside manners to speak of. Truly gifted doctors whom we've had the pleasure of being tended to who were graduates of accredited medical schools had amazing manners, those degreed from Harvard, John's Hopkins, OHSU, Yale, Stanford, Chicago Med, etc, but not this subpar, below average, run of the mill, and what seemed to be a Florida-online-degree-having "doctor" Annette Chang Sims. One wonders when it comes her turn to be treated for anything, karma may bite her in her useless, heinous bottom. Just an all around ugly person. I do not recommend this bottom of the barrel eye doctor for anything but your regular eyeglass exam.

She seemed impatient to the point of almost being hostile, and it was clear she wanted to be out of there. Obviously, I will not be visiting her again. Twice was more than enough.

Annette Chang Sims has shown herself to be rude, impatient, condescending, disinterested, uncommunicative and generally not patient oriented. On my last visit several items were put on the patient summary that were not true. I have asked to speak to her for clarification, but the chances of that happening are next to zero given how indifferent she is to her patient's well-being.
