I had my baby toe on my left foot amputated in January 2023. Over the course of 7 months the wound would not heal. Went to the Emergency Dept. a few times and they gave me anti biotics but it wouldn't heal. Finally one of the Emergency Room doctors referred me to Dr. Blackman and he diagnosed that I had an infection in a bone in my foot. He shave some of the infection and had me on a double dose of antibiotics and I was healed in 4-5 weeks. I would like to note that I am not diabetic. Great Doctor. Very personableand knowledgeable.

My husband and I have been seeing Dr. Blackman since 2004. He has always been helpful, knowledgeable and compassionate. We first started seeing Dr. Blackman when my husband was facing amputation of his right leg (it was a mess). Dr. Blackman was able to save his leg. Since then, Dr. Blackman has always been prompt to see us when issues have unexpectedly cropped up outside of regular visits. Dr. Blackman makes sure that we understand the instructions we are being given before we leave the office. My husband has followed through on those instructions and we both highly recommend Dr. Blackman to others.

My son's foot had to almost be amputated because this doctor does not have any competence in dealing with foot problems. My son went to him for a few months and was told everything will be ok until his foot became so infected from neglect from this doctor that he had to be hospitalized. His foot had to be drained and he was left with huge open raw sores down to the bone. But this doctor told him it would be alright.

Amputated 2 of my Dads toes in the office and then no follow up. Long story short....my dad ended up with sepsis due to the incision not being closed right and passed away.

Run far and fast from this doctor if he has not already amputated your limb. Total incompetence and rudeness from the nurse receptionist.

Dr Blackman and staff are helpful..remember not many of his kind left in this area...just love some of the bad comments....if you don't take your meds when an infection sets in...drink alcohol while taking meds....not follow doctors rules about keeping wounds dry....you get complications....like loosing a toe, limb etc.....been diabetic for over 56 years and wouldn't want any other dr to treat my complications with infections

This man should not be able to practice any type of medicine. He destroyed my grandfather's life! By amputating his leg from the knee down all because he had a small cut on his ankle. He let the cut fester for 6 months.
Then my grandfather had another small mark on his left leg and Mr. Blackman wanted to amputate. Thankfully through my grandfather nurse, we were able to get a 2nd opinion to save his leg. Dr. Mayer in Hamilton saved my grandfathers leg. He was appalled that Blackman amputated in the first place and it wasn't even necessary!!!
So stay far far away from this doctor at the wound clinic on Welland Ave.

I have to thank dr blackman for what I am facing today, he has cost me the last7yrs of my life. A simple water blister on my left foot has turned into an array of problems with my left foot. Facing a partial amputation.I have talking to people and I'm not the only one.
He should not be allowed to practice on a dead pig nevermind a human.. Should retire before he ruins anyone elses life. Scary Scary man
