Our initial visit with Dr. Daller was good. He even commented that it was great having such educated patients (we are both health professionals).
My husband has been on testosterone implants for more than 3 years, after trying gels and IM injections. The weekly injections worked for the first two days, then the effect tapered off., so by the last two days prior to the next injection, he was very symptomatic again. The pellets were so much better - no tapering off.
My husband's PSA test results are useless. They've been monitored for years - and have been from 12 to (two days later) 0 - and every where inbetween. There is no rhyme or reason to these numbers and are certaiunly not diagnostic of anything for him, at least. PSA MAY be diagnostic of prostate cancer for some men.
According to the United States Preventative Task Force (and other professional organizaitons (https://www.uspreventiveservicestaskforce.org/Page/Document/RecommendationStatementFinal/prostate-cancer-screening1) screening using PSA for men should be an individual decision. My husband has decided not to pay any attention to this test...and has actually left the care of one physician who ordered the test after my husband refused it.
My husband told Dr. Daller that PSA was useless for him - and imagine our surprise when Dr. Daller refused to give my husband testosterone implants because his PSA was elevated. His reasoning was that if he needed to stop the testosterone because the PSA increased, he couldn't remove the pellets, but could stop the IM injections. We tried to explain again that PSA was useless for my husband - to no effect. Dr. Daller even said he wasn't going to argue about it - and we left with a prescription for IM testosterone - better than nothing, but not the treatment that my husband had been receiving prior to our moving from another state.
We felt that we were not listened to, that my husband's decision to ignore PSA testing was not respected at all.
Urologists really have very few tests for prostate cancer - but, in our opinion, basing treatment recommendations on a useless PSA test, while Dr. Daller's professional prerogative, isn't good care - for my husband. It may be for others. As far as my husband is concerned, if he never has another PSA test, it will be fine with him. He will NEVER base any care - such as prostate biopsy or surgery - on a PSA test.
We doubt that Dr. Daller will change his mind, and expect that my husband, while in Dr. Daller's care, will be limited to the lower level of testosterone replacement.
The really sad thing is that we really felt as tho we were not listened to -- that we had no input into the decision. So much for the patient being part of the team.

Dr Meir Daller is by far the best urologist in SW Florida. Amazing credentials, great staff and brand new office on 14320 Metropolis Avenue, Fort Myers, Florida 33912.

I would not recommend Dr Daller to anyone. I went to him because of repetitive UTI's. He did a test and told me to stay away from acid. What does that even mean? So...with a positive test for a UTI, he offers me no medication, I had to ask the nurse upon them dismissing me for a prescription! You would think that would have been the obvious thing to do! He gave me aloe vera capsules from some company and said his other pts swear by them. They are very expensive and did not help me. I will never go back to him. Do your research on fraudulent activity on him before you go. You will change your mind quick!
