I met with the very pleasant Doctor Gofnung for a second opinion re: a thyroid nodule for a 15 minute appointment. No tests were done (he did ask me to go have some tests, but not even an order was written up). No exam was given (he did touch my neck). We talked. For 15 minutes. I have a PPO, and the bill just showed up: $780. For 15 minutes. Which means his hourly rate is $3,120.

Again, he was pleasant, but $3120/HOUR - ARE YOU INSANE? My portion of the bill is almost $500 (applied to deductible). Which means I am paying him OUT OF POCKET $33.33 /minute. Seriously - check with your insurance before you make an appointment here. I wished I'd asked about their hourly rate before I booked.
