one of the most expensive places in town. $1350 for a gold crown, $1150 for porcelain on gold, when other places where ~$800. also, admits to doing core buildups (another $250) much more often than her peers, which can't hurt your teeth, but certainly hurts the pocketbook, particularly when in cases when it's not really necessary. maybe my crowns will last comparatively longer, but who knows. ask me in a couple decades. she has a strange preference when adjusting the bite to take material off good original teeth instead of the manufactured crown. and i received little advice when choosing the material of the crown (porcelain vs. gold). i can't say it's bad work, but i'm going to try someone else next time.

thiis doctor performed procedures that were not asked for, WITHOUT the patient's consent, and then charged the patient for all these unnecessary procedures.

Absolute worst dentist in the world. She tells everyone they need a 500 nightguard, children need to have porcelain fillings in their baby teeth and her work on my husband's broken tooth was deemed malpractice by the second dentist he went to (to whom we now take all our business). We have obtained our records and have plans to take her to small claims court to recoup our losses.

The doctor was punctual, and my appointment went smoothly, but I was billed almost twice as much as I was initially quoted! I understand that it can be difficult to calculate insurance coverage, but I think that it is irresponsible to tell a patient who is on a fixed income that work will cost a certain amount, and then charge them for more when it comes time to pay. I would expect this from a car mechanic, but not a dentist! I also was never given any sort of bill, which I thought was rather odd.

Unbelievably unprofessional! I had an appt for my 8 year old, was there 10 mins early but she saw him half an hour late. He is a good kid, but waiting 40 mins for an appt was a lot to ask. Her reason for the delay? "The patient with the appt before your son is not familiar with the area and was running late so I had to see her first." She said during the appt "His teeth are badly shaped! He will need MAJOR orthodontic work". All true, but why did she have to put it so tactlessly?? He was in tears on the way home about it, and he is not usually a sensitive kid. I rate her bedside manner as appalling. She touched many things after putting on her gloves, then went to put her hands in my son's mouth (!). When I stopped her, she rolled her eyes. I told her it is standard medical practice to put on gloves immediately before touching the patient-otherwise you are just collecting germs (yes, I am in the medical field myself). She told me "You can go somewhere else" when I complained to her.

I had two visits with Dr. Gupta. The first visit was to address a broken filling that had left a crater in one tooth; at that time, she explained that before it could be filled, I needed to have a mouth-guard or else my tooth grinding as I slept would damage the filling. Fine. One week and $500 later, I was back in her office. This time she decided that the decay was too serious, and I would need a root canal and a crown. I feel she should have diagnosed this on the first visit. At every step, I had the impression that I was being "upsold" on things: Only the most expensive mouth-guard would work, I unquestionably needed an X-Ray, why not get a teeth-cleaning while I'm there, and a fluoride treatment? And, of course, the surprise $2000 root canal+crown. I have no dental insurance. I sought a second opinion, and ultimately had the filling done by Collegetown dental, who were able to remove the decay without hitting the nerve, and without a root canal.
