After having been with Dr. Kovarick for nearly 10 years, I am leaving her. I had a growth that was causing problems. Initially, she did not take my problems seriously, making me feel like a hypochondriac. Eventually, she referred me to an oncologist who while expert, was not skilled in modern techniques. When I told her about that, she seemed to take offense. Rather than match me to another oncologist, she became quite defensive about the oncologist. I opted for another doctor to do the surgery, using robotic equipment. Throughout it all, I felt quite on my own to do my research. She just was not helpful. Her office staff is nice. She has limited her practice by not taking insurance. She also does dermabrasion work, something that seems incongruous with gynecology. She does not do obstetrics. I always found pelvic exams painful with her, also biopsies. I've since found a new doctor and pelvics are not painful.
