I agree with all the comments here. This doctor is not caring or interesting in your concerns at all. Your visit is usually will end up quick and not being addressed as you would want. She will deny all your requests, because she thinks it's not necessary. Saying NO is her favorite word. You will become more frustrated the moment you walk out the room. Never experienced anything like this before.

To give you a bit of background on Dr. Aileen Monponbanua; I had seen the Dr. years prior after receiving what I thought was wonderful service. So much so I even sent a thank you card to the Dr. when my insurance changed and PacMed Renton was no longer in-network. When it was time to seek a Dr. for my mother, I referred my mother to her due to my past experience. All was well when my mother started seeing the Dr., but it soon went downhill, as the Dr. grew impatient, short, disruptive, and borderline disrespectful during our visits. My parents taught me well -- to never disobey, back talk or disrespect authority but there as one incident I had to "snap" at the Dr. for being rude to my mother. There were other times I had my sister fill in because the experience became stressful. My sister too felt the same aggression from the Dr.,and basically left me to continue taking my mother on her visits. I used to take my mother in regularly and routinely as my mother is nearing that 55-60+ age, but due to the handful of times we were disrespected; our visits have lapsed about 1-1 1/2 years before we found a different doctor. During this time we did contact the clinic manager (I believe her name was Nicole -- she now has taken a position at the Tacoma/Lakewood branch). Whether or not Nicole addressed my complaint with Aileen, I don't know as she never did follow up. To shorten this rating some, Dr. Aileen Monponbanua really needs to revisit her training in regards to her social skills and empathy with the public. She seems tired of her job; providing less than stellar service and lacks compassion.

This doctor will not work with you if you need a referral to another specialist. She was okay at the beginning, but will become unresponsive to your concerns. This Dr will prescribed your unnecessary medication, and tell you it's okay to have some serious side effects. When I proceeded to see another Dr, they told me to stop the medication immediately. Again, she may be a nice doctor, but that's it.

Very nice doctor, however, when it comes down to complex health concerns, please seek a second opinion. Developed a second infection from a medication she prescribed to me. She was adamant that it was "not possible" that the medication caused it and didn't want to do blood/lab work since it takes time to grow in the lab. My illness got worst and I went to see another doctor at another clinic that proceeded to do blood work/lab test. Came to find out I had developed a serious infection and told me that the medication Dr. Monponbanua prescribed to me was unnecessary and caused the infection. Please proceed with caution and do your research.
