I survived.Smh. 3 grievances from the VA need filed. I keep trying. The negativity about her is true.

The staff is considerate, efficient and responsive. I can't say enough good about them. You'll more than likely have a long time to sit in the waiting room, however. Dr. G does spend a lot of time with patients, but I can't say that it is worth it. I often left an appointment feeling like I'd been to the Dr. Gutierrez show. Meaning, I often felt that she pegged me into a diagnosis and therapy that didn't quite fit. It often seemed like she listened to a certain point, made up her mind and plugged me into a slot that didn't fit with the rest of what I had to say or feel. As time passed, she seemed too medicine-heavy. I realize she's an MD, but there are other ways to tackle problems or symptoms. For example, I was uncomfortable by her treating one med side effect with an additional medicine. She often seemed aloof or superior - or something. She was my doctor for a long time, but there was too much static in the connection.

Wait time: LONG. She spends enough time that you'd think she can understand. Never felt her diagnosis' were accurate, but couldn't say why. Thought it might be a language barrier; am now pretty sure she hears but doesn't listen, makes up her mind. The End. DO NOT try to correct or clarify unless asked- she can turn ANGRY in a flash - like being capsized by a rogue wave. Don't wait for the 2nd time - its coming. Get 2nd opinion on all diagnosis and Rx; she's Diagnosis & med heavy. Major regret: not believing my gut. Amazing difference since finding new doctor, lighter meds, MUCH less sever diagnosis. Not a bitter ex-patient. Take a video of every appointment because the one time you don't have it on tape, you'll leave thinking you're crazier than she had you labeled. PARENTS (especially), Caution, tread carefully, trust your own instincts and seek another doctor. Even if it costs out of pocket.

Dr. Gutierrez is the best doctor I have ever met in my entire life. The only reason I rate her a three for punctuality is because she will go above and beyond for her patients rather than watch the clock. The only reason I am unable to see her now is my insurance has changed to Aetna, with which she is not contracted. Count yourself among the lucky ones if you have the pleasure of meeting this one-of-a-kind doctor.
