She caused my mom to have a traumatic pregnancy by ignoring her pleas for a c-section, which led to shoulder dystocia and she tried breaking the babies collar bone to get the baby out. This was in 1994. My mom should have sued her and she knows it. The doctor my mom switched to after having me, a 9 pound 6 ounce baby, commented on what a traumatic birth it was and said the entire hospital was talking about it. Michelle long knows she’s a terrible labour and delivery nurse so hopefully she sticks to being a GP where her opinion doesn’t mean much considering google is a better doctor than her.

I have been one of Dr longs first patients and have had many changes in my life. She has always been kind and professional . I will miss her when it is her time to retire .

I have read other reviews and concur with the sentiment of condescension and active listening skills. Dr Long was a good Dr years ago but something has changed with her demeanour. She disregards anything that you suggest could be the problem. Her solutions to some ailments are just ridiculous. She makes body shaming comments that she thinks are funny. She has become very brusque to the point I dread having any contact with her. I’m not sure what happened in her life that changed her to such a blatant harpy.

Very difficult to book an appointment with. If you eventually get an appointment she is very rude and condescending. You know nothing a about your own body in her mind. Doesn't listen to your concerns just assumes she knows the issue after you have said one thing.. lack of new knowledge. She should go back to school, maybe learn some manners.

Lack of listening skills, can be condescending to patient. Outdated knowledge of new technology, treatments. Do not feel comfortable that she be comprehensive in her approach to a diagnosis, evaluation or follow up.

Dr. Long was my family doctor for many years. In those years I came to her many times with symptoms of sever anxiety. I was constantly dismissed and not even referred to counseling. Talking with other patients of Dr.Long’s it is clear that she has little understanding or compassion for mental health issues, addiction issues and neurodivergent patients. Since finding a new doctor who listens and understands my quality of life has greatly improved. Dr.Long was great for physical health related issues and always pleasant to interact with.

Dr Long has been my doctor for well over 20 years..the first decade was wonderful she was genuinely thorough caring and attentive. Lately...she’s condescending, refuses to truly listen to her patients ailments, and she refuses to admit fault when she has made some real doozies , where my health is concerned. Dr Long associates absolutely everything and I mean everything with mental health! I’m well aware that there are a number of psychosomatic components to a variety of illnesses but not all of them. Dr Long with all due respect...please start listening to your patients when they are telling you their actual symptoms. You seem to hear only what you want to hear, and then make your mind up, this is unacceptable in my opinion. There have been times I just haven’t bothered to continue to come in and see you, when I’ve really needed to because I know if it isn’t mental health related, you are going to give me the brush off.

I feel very fortunate to have Dr. Long as a family physician for myself and my family. She is knowledgeable, helpful and just a lovely person - I highly recommend her. You won't be disappointed. I never have been.
