There’s one particular receptionist that is very cold and rude on the phone, and is very unhelpful. While Dr. Power is a very nice person, I find she lacks compassion for some issues I’ve discussed with her before. Every time I have an appointment with her, especially on phone, I find I communicate all of my concerns much more thoroughly with the med students or residents that she has with her. I could spend 30 minutes explaining to them all my various issues and will always be met with “is there any else?” or follow up questions regarding the issues I discussed, but it’s rare I’m on the phone with her for longer than 5-10 minutes. I had listed numerous issues and she addressed 2-3 of them all the while trying to get me off the phone. She neglected to ask about what sort of food I ate all the while saying I’m probably not eating enough of ___. I like Dr. Power as a person but I would not recommend as a doctor unless you only have 1-2 concerns to talk about at a time.

I had a telephone appointment recently with Dr. Power and she was not at all helpful to me. She did not seem to want to listen to my concerns, after expressing just one problem she was trying to (kindly) shoo me off the phone. I understand she has many patients but she made me feel very insignificant.
I had also opened up to her about something that has negatively affected my mental health that i've been battling with for quite some time. This was *very* difficult for me to finally talk to a professional about and I was hoping for her to refer me to a specialist. She completely lacked compassion, cut me off and just told me to "call eastern health". I wasn't even given a specific phone number. Once again, (kindly) shooing me off the phone. I did not find her helpful with any of my physical or mental health concerns. I was extremely disappointed with the lack of care and although she may be a great doctor to some, I would not recommend her.

I rate Dr.. Power as a 3 to 3.5 overall. I feel she is not prompt on reading reports, a lot could be prevented if she haven’t taken on other doctors patients and now her long term patients are put on the back burner. I had a mama gram done a moth ago and still got no call from her with my reports. I can feel a lump in my left breast. Can’t get in to see her because of Covid but other patients get in. She is a wonderful person but needs to focus on her patients more.

When Dr. Power first started her practice here I found her to be a good doctor and very helpful. Of late, if you have two concerns, by the time you start to tell her the second one she is on her feet ready to go out the door.

I have had 3 different family doctors in the area over the years and I wouldn't go to anyone else now. Very friendly and helpful, doesn't mind addressing multiple health concerns in one visit, and always explains procedures. Wait times aren't long and I'm so glad my kids have her as their doctor.

She's nice enough, but was new when I was going to see her, didn't seem to care much about my issues that I was having, didn't send me to see a specialist about things, and my next Dr knew first visit what was wrong with me....she might be better now with more experience, but I would never go to see her again unless I HAD to, and if my life depended on it, I would be very nervous.
