Very dry and quiet. Skilled as a surgeon. He is helpful enough but one must decode his terse statements. His one receptionist had no use for patients; the answering machine message in her voice was exceptionally unpleasant; she was almost vindictive against patients. I actually reported her to the staff at the Ross Clinic at the Miller Centre. She seems to have been replaced by a rather pleasant, competent lady. Let's hope it is permanent.

Admin staff ridiculous. Dr dunphy seems knowledgeable but he really needs to revamp the way his office is managed. It takes days sometimes to get through. No message manager to request callback. Its archaic. Found another doctor totally because of his front line staff.

I have visited Dr Dunphy and found him very knowledge . Although clinic is often quite busy the staff will try and arrange an appointment for me .

I went to him several times and found him to be very knowledgeable. I do agree with the other comments though about the admin staff! They seem like we are bothering them. This is a super busy clinic in a busy hospital, so Dr. Dunphy does have a lot of people to deal with. He is a quiet man and gets right to the point.

Dr. Dunphy is very quiet but an excellent doctor. Good at what he does but does not want to be bothered with administrative concerns. His staff are the worst!! You can never get through, you can't even leave a message. I tried to make an appointment over a year ago and they were annoyed with me because they said that they woudl call me with the appointment, not the other way around. So I waited, and waited and waited....they never called. So finally I called back again (after days of trying to get through) and they said they don't make the appointments!! Talk about conflicting information. They are very rude and not friendly at all. Dr. Dunphy needs to revamp his administrative team!

Dr. Dunphy is an excellent Physician who truly cares about his patients. He is kind and gentle and has been my doctor for about 6 years. His knowledge and understanding of his field is outstanding and second to none!

This doctor is not child friendly at all. I found going to his appointments with my 3 year old son very stressful. At one visit he said my son is not co-operating and he could not finish the exam, after we had waited a couple hours to see him. I had been seeing another opthamologist in Toronto, before moving to Nfld, who knew how to get and keep a child's attention, regardless of their age, long enough to perform the exam. So appointments with Dr. Dunphy were very upsetting. He may be a good doctor for adults, but not for children.

Dr. Dunphy has been caring for my eyes for several years. I find him to be professional and knowledgeable, answering all my eye health related questions to my satisfaction. He is a quiet and focused man, so if you're looking for someone to entertain you or listen to complaints unrelated to your eye health, he's probably not the person for you. He has a very busy practice with good reason.
