I first saw Dr. Parker five years ago. My periods had started to become unbearably heavy and unpredictable. The final straw was during a work trip when I bled through my tampon and pad on the flight home. I would get anxious leading up to my period, knowing my flow would be life altering.
After some testing, Dr. Parker clearly laid out all of my options without judgment or pressure, previously visited gynecologists were ready to open me up, something I wasn’t ready to do. Two years ago, I went to an orthopedist for chronic back pain, the MRI indicated an enlarged uterus, my fibroids had indeed grown and were pushing on my bladder and spine.
I reached out to Dr. Parker again, his bedside manner, knowledge and experience in treating fibroids put me at ease and I decided to have the surgery.

Surgery went smoothly and was relatively painless. I am SO PLEASED to report that I am now 4 months post-op and have not had back pain since my surgery.  My periods are slowly getting back to normal and I am no longer anxious to be out in public on days 2 and 3 of my cycle.

I can't thank Dr. Parker enough for giving me my life back!

I saw Dr. Parker for Laparoscopic Myomectomy and he is incredible:

After I found out that I had several large fibroids, I consulted with two different surgeons prior to Dr. Parker and also several other doctors to figure out my options and if it was possible to shrink them naturally. They were too big so anything natural wouldn’t make a very big difference so I really wanted to have them surgically removed. The first 2 surgeons both told me that during surgery there would be a 15% chance that they would need to do an emergency hysterectomy and I really didn’t want that. I finally found Dr. Parker through a recommendation from my new functional medicine doctors, who said that he had helped another patient of hers with a similar problem.

Since I don’t live near Dr. Parker’s office, I was able to do my initial consultation online. He thoroughly explained my MRI images and all of my options and the pros and cons of each. I felt very comfortable making the decision to have the fibroids laparoscopically removed, and was actually excited to have it done, not scared at all. Dr. Parker clearly has a lot of experience and knowledge. The day before the laparoscopic procedure I was examined by Dr. Parker and he explained what would happen the next day and what to do in recovery. I was able to ask all the questions that I had and he even showed me a video of the procedure so I could see exactly how it works. On the day of the surgery, Dr. Parker and all of the other doctors and assistants took very good care of me, even though it took longer than expected as I had so many fibroids! I went home the same day and recovered quickly. I took 2 weeks off from work, but was able to walk around and do things pretty normally.

Two months from the surgery I had another online check-up with Dr. Parker and was happy to report that I was not only completely recovered but feeling better than ever. Now it’s been five months and I can hardly see the scars and I’m still feeling great! I’m so happy and forever grateful that after not being satisfied with the first two surgeons’ solution, I sought out a third opinion and found Dr. Parker. He truly is a one-of-a-kind doctor, professional, knowledgeable, kind, and talented.

I was referred to Dr. William Parker by an interventional radiologist at UCLA; and when I tell you this referral was heaven sent, trust me  I have struggled with infertility for many years before being told - you have fibroids. I researched Dr. Parker thoroughly and was excited to find a Dr. whose immediate recommendation wasn’t a hysterectomy. On my first visit Dr. Parker patiently reviewed the MRI with me - answering all my questions and explaining that the location of some of my fibroids are known to cause fertility issues. Dr. Parker was compassionate - he listened, he understood my concerns - and WE decided on the best procedure for my situation, an abdominal myomectomy. After the appointment, I had some anxiety about having the surgery. I sent him a message on MyChart, and he called the next day, to discuss more about the procedure. We went over a few more things and he took an extra step, of requesting a hysterosonogram - to get a better view of the location of the fibroids in the lining of my uterus. I was also concerned about having the abdominal myomectomy scar but Dr. Parker even granted my vanity request - to make the incision a little lower . During preop I took my sister, to get her opinion - and she loved him too! Dr. Parker successfully removed 28 fibroids on Friday and followed-up with me Saturday morning at the hospital. 7 weeks post-surgery - I feel great, and the scar is barely noticeable. I am so grateful having Dr. Parker as my doctor. Words can’t express the first class experience I received from him and his staff. If you’re looking for a doctor who specializes in fibroids, listens, sees you as an individual person, and wants the best for you, look no further - Dr. Parker is the BEST!

Doctor William Parker and his team are truly the cream of the crop in surgery on endometriosis and fibroids.
I am in my 40s and have both endometriosis and multiple fibroids. All the fibroids are grown in the wall of the womb, and the biggest fibroid is 9cm. My whole womb is about the size of one that is 18 weeks pregnant. And I still want to have children.
Previously, I went to many other gynecologists. 4 of them are not sure if I should have surgery. They said if I needed surgery, they could only perform open surgery, but they are not sure if that would reduce my fertility and even lose my womb. They said if they can’t stop me from bleeding during the process of removing the fibroid, they have to remove the whole womb. Another 3 gynecologists insisted that I should remove my whole womb despite the fact that I told them I still want children. They told me my fibroids are potentially cancerous so I should remove my whole womb as soon as possible. I could neither trust those wishy-washy doctors, nor could I trust those who merely want a fat paycheck from doing a big surgery, rather than their patients’ well-being; so I continued to search online until I found Dr. William Parker.
After the first appointment with Dr. Parker, it was like having a breath of fresh air and I knew I found the right doctor. Dr. William Parker is very knowledgeable, yet still very humble and caring. He listened to me patiently, and his explanations were very clear and logical. First, he assured me that my fibroids are not cancerous. Second, he explained that the 9cm fibroid does reduce my fertility. Removing it will increase my fertility back to what is normal for my age. Third, I was given the choice of doing either open surgery or laparoscopic surgery. With the open surgery, all fibroids could be removed, but it takes a longer time to recover. With laparoscopy surgery, the big ones are guaranteed to be removed, and it only takes 4-6 weeks to recover. Because I want something less invasive, I chose laparoscopic surgery. Dr. Parker assured me that I won’t lose my womb and because I am young and healthy, the chance of having any complications(eg. Blood clotting) is very low. That really comforted me. I felt that I am in good hands, not only could I trust in his skill, but also trust in his person. I think Dr. William Parker has a sound moral compass. He surely just wants the best for his patients.
It’s now 6 weeks after the surgery, I feel like I am back to normal without any complications. I could tell this surgery was done very well by comparison to previous endometriosis surgeries I had in the past. This time, I was able to get out of bed and go to the bathroom by myself on the first night home. In previous times, I was in bed for a couple of days. I was able to walk slowly the next day. I don’t have much pain during these couple of weeks of recovery time. The only way I could explain this is that Dr. Parker precisely only removed what was needed, and did absolutely no damage to the nearby organs.
Dr. William Parker is not covered by my HMO health insurance. However, later on I found out that as long as I can prove to my health insurance that none of my health care providers could perform certain treatment for me, my insurance actually authorized me to see doctors outside the network and covered the medical bill just as usual. Dr.Parker is the only doctor I found who could remove a large fibroid in the laparoscopic way. So it is very easy to prove this to the insurance company and get covered.
It is really a blessing to have Dr. William Parker perform the surgery for me. My serious condition was never too complicated for this highly skilled doctor. He did exactly what he planned to do during the surgery. And I want to help more women who have large fibroids to know about this brilliant doctor.
If I could have children in the future, I will come back and update you all.

Dr. Parker was recommended to me by a Yale educated, brilliant friend who has been through many health scares. If it were not for women telling their healthcare stories I would not have found him. My friend’s fibroids had been removed by Dr. Parker with a labroscopic myomectomy years prior, her scars were invisible, and she was thrilled with her treatment, insisting that I call and speak with him. Dr. Parker replied to my email immediately during the holidays and a pandemic, and we set up a teledoc appointment. I set up an appointment at the best cancer hospital near me to meet with a gynecological oncologist/surgeon for a cancer- specific third opinion as well. I sent all diagnostic images and summaries to both Dr. Parker and the oncologist.

Thankfully my first meeting was with Dr. Parker –because I went into the second meeting aware and informed. Dr. Parker was knowledgeable, friendly, warm, patient, and interested in my condition and optimistic about possible treatments. He took time to answer 100% of my questions, never rushed, and taught me everything about fibroids I needed to know including why they exist and how they form and grow. He’s clearly an academic, a pioneer, and medical expert on the subject, and fortunately a teacher by nature. He was happy to refer doctors in my area whom he had trained and supervised, though I chose to do my surgery with him. He had knowledge beyond what you will find in any internet search about the fibroids and gynecological issues, explaining every possible treatment for fibroids, how they work and the eligibility and statistical outcomes of available treatments. He reviewed my MRI images and showed me exactly what my gynecologist apparently had never looked at: the ovary in question was clearly articulated, there was no obstruction, and no cancer. MRI contrast images clearly proved that and he showed me how and why. I had one large fibroid (1.5lbs) he confidently said he could remove labroscopically, along with three smaller, less concerning ones he could remove as well.

I decided that Dr. Parker was the right surgeon for me once I knew that both he and the oncologist I went to for a third opinion- were confident that I didn’t have cancer. His staff helped me through a difficult process of getting through insurance, and I finally had my labroscopic myomectomy. Everyone I encountered in the process was exceptional. In my pre-op in person exam days before, Dr. Parker explained everything prior to surgery that would happen. He was with me before I went into surgery the same day, and was completely calm and grounding. I was never nervous with him, (and I have never had a surgery or anesthesia). In the surgery, my large fibroid had multiple thicker than usual blood vessels connected to the largest fibroid- and he was able to stabilize my bleeding and safely bring me back with a complete procedure. He had to leave the three smaller fibroids in due to the length of the anesthesia and risk of further bleeding, and has clarified repeatedly in subsequent conversations the low risk of any issues due to my age, hormonal levels, and even said that I could become pregnant without risk to the fetus due to the size and location of the fibroids. I was admitted overnight for two nights at the hospital, and transfused for blood loss. Within three weeks I was back to work and now it has been 6 weeks, and I am walking 4 miles a day, my incisions are healing quickly and well, and am able to move around confidently without concern. After the surgery I immediately felt like someone who had been an unwelcome presence in my body for years was gone. It’s hard to describe in words, but I feel like a new person in many ways. Sex is not only not painful now, it’s a revelation. My digestion/elimination is almost completely normal already, which can take time to normalize but did not. Dr. Parker was in communication with me when I came out of anesthesia, and in the days following from the hospital to home, and has been 100% responsive to any questions, even extending the invitation to contact him should I have further questions.
I was empowered and educated with Dr. Parker’s help. The confusion, rush and pressure women encounter to have a not always necessary hysterectomy or trust doctors who lack skill, experience, bedside manners, integrity, or empathy needed in this type of situation is alarmingly common. But the consequences are serious. What is uncommon is to find a physician who can change your life in a conversation before you’ve even had a surgery, and follow through to its full resolution. Dr. Parker is that physician for me. I’m deeply grateful to have found him, and to myself for having fought and waited to get my surgery with him and accepted no substitute. I would not only trust him but anyone he recommends and has trained. If you are dealing with fibroids or any gynecological issue, I recommend only Dr. Parker.

Where do I even begin! If you are reading this, you have probably been tirelessly dealing with female issues and searching for answers that you have not been able to find. I was in the same space when, by the grace of God, I found Dr. Parker. I have been dealing with difficult cycles since I was 12 years old. What started out as morning sickness and migraines, led me to having very heavy periods, fatigue, debilitating pain, nausea and thus finding a fibroid. I had been to 5 different OBGYN's and was told to go on birth control. I had been on birth control for 10 years and decided to go off of it as I took a more natural approach to my healthcare. Surgery has always scared me and previous OB's told me to try not to get surgery until after I had had children. My fibroid was diagnosed at age 26 and I am 30 today. I was told "try and get pregnant" that will cure the fibroid after childbirth. I was also told to look into the UAE (uterine artery embolization) procedure. That this procedure would not affect my fertility--which Dr. Parker quickly told me it would not be in my best interest if I wanted to have kids someday. I am nowhere near having kids so to think that my only option every OB told me was to basically struggle for more years down the line until I did meet my husband and have a family did not sit right with me. My struggles began to get worse at age 29. I would bleed through an ultra size tampon (did not even know they made them this big) every 30 minutes. I would have to set alarms at work to make it to the bathroom in time. There have been several times I would bleed out. I have ruined many pairs of sheets, 3 office chairs, and office carpets while trying to make it to the bathroom. Sometimes my body would try to pass clots so much that it would not even keep a tampon inside. I share all of this openly because I am beyond grateful to be on the other side. When I met Dr. Parker he was kind, understanding, made me feel heard, and very knowledgeable. He's got years of extensive research and practice in this area and a genuine interest in helping women get better. He was able to preserve my fertility and leave me with minimal scarring! He had a way of explaining things to me in terms I could understand. He calmed my nerves even on surgery day. I just can't express my gratitude enough for how professional and kind he treated me and my family during the entire process. I am 3 months post surgery and it brings me to tears to think how much better I feel. My only regret is that I did not do this surgery soon enough! My periods feel like nothing! I have donated all of my large tampons and pads because I just don't need them anymore. Symptoms that I never knew were symptoms from the fibroid have vanished. I feel I have a whole new lease on life and I can finally start living!! God bless this man and anyone reading this. There is a light at the end of the tunnel!

Dr. Parker is, quite simply, a godsend. There is a reason women travel from all corners of the earth to seek his opinion. And there is a reason his website is teeming with glowing reviews and effusive, detailed compliments. Dr. Parker singlehandedly fills a gaping void in female health care, and in so doing, has improved so many women’s lives—including my own. After spending countless hours over the years dealing with numerous fibroids (including unsuccessful treatments and failed procedures) and meeting with more than a handful of doctors in three different states and even France, I am convinced that Dr. Parker is unparalleled in experience, skill, wisdom, and compassion. Like so many other women, I have felt judged by gynecologists who think that a hysterectomy is always the best option, and who cannot fathom why someone would fight to keep such a “superfluous” organ (that’s a direct quote) beyond child-bearing years. Conversely, Dr. Parker understands that hysterectomies are not only unwanted by many women, but they are also, in so many cases, totally unnecessary. Dr. Parker successfully performed a laparoscopic myomectomy on me after I had been told that “it just wasn’t in the cards” for me to be able to keep my uterus because my fibroids were too numerous and problematic in terms of location. Dr. Parker proved the other gynecologists wrong, and my trip from Denver to CA for a consultation and then surgery was the best decision I could have made.

Dr. Parker is not only a consummate physician and surgeon; he is also a flat-out wonderful person. He takes time to engage with his patients and to understand their leanings and fears, and he does a fantastic job in terms of fibroid education and explaining the available options in straightforward yet not over-simplified terms. Dr. Parker clearly cares about his patients and doesn’t just default to a superficial one-size-fits-all approach that is so common among other doctors. I trust Dr. Parker so much that I recently sought his opinion yet again for some thankfully more minor issues I will be addressing with my Denver doctor. Seeing Dr. Parker again was comforting, and felt a bit like seeing an old friend. Looking back, I’ll never forget the day my tear-filled eyes landed upon Dr. Parker’s website, at a time in my life when I felt lost and trapped in what seemed like a nonsensical and uncaring health “care” assembly line. And now, as I write this, I’m on the verge of tears again—but this time, with gratitude for Dr. Parker and my improved health, and genuine hope for other women who find him.

Almarie C – Jacksonville, Florida
After several years of battling with my fibroid condition, I was blessed to find
Dr. Parker. Previously, under another gynecologist I was given treatment of my fibroid condition through embolization, but over the years that procedure did not give me the relief I desired. Unfortunately, it made my condition worse. My fibroids was still intact and I still had no real relief from my symptoms.

In my opinion, anyone who is considering treatment for their fibroid condition through embolization, I would have to advise against it, because of having my own personal experience with embolization. Bottom line is the embolization treatment I received for my fibroids made my condition worse and made it more of a challenge to remove my fibroids. If I would have known about Dr. Parker at that time… which is about 15 years ago…I would of have opt to have laparoscopic myomectomy surgery. Just as some other women, I didn’t want having a hysterectomy to be the answer to my fibroid condition. I always knew it was another way for them to be removed without a hysterectomy, but my previous physician kept recommending a hysterectomy. I was determine to find another way. I was so very thankful for getting on the internet and finding Dr. Parker. I traveled all the way from Jacksonville, Florida to have Dr. Parker to perform my surgery. The distance may seem extreme for some, but I was determine to resolve my fibroid issue. I was very impressed with Dr. Parker’s credentials and even more impressed of the feedback that his patients was giving on his kindness of bedside manner, top in his field of study, and an overwhelming amount of experience. Dr. Parker is an IMPECCABLE surgeon. I felt reassured of my decision to have Dr. Parker to perform my laparoscopic myomectomy. I have no regrets and my traveling to him was well worth every penny! It truly was one of the best decision I could have ever made for myself. It’s been close to 2 weeks since my surgery and I must say my pain has been very manageable and I truly feel in my body that I am healing well. So if you’re looking for a compassionate, well-educated, and well experience surgeon-look no further-Dr. Parker is your physician.

Dr. Parker is the best doctor that I have seen. I have suffered from fibroids and heavy-bleeding for about two years, so I asked around to look for good doctors in the field. One of my friends recommended Dr. Parker to me. Her friend had the problem of fibroids a few years ago. The other doctors suggested her to have hysterectomy. She said that Dr. Parker ordered some tests. After getting the test results, Dr. Parker did not think a surgery is necessary for her considering her age. He prescribed her some medicines and she has been doing good without a surgery since then.
Before seeing Dr. Parker, I also went to see other doctors. They said that I have multiple fibroids, so I can only have either open abdominal surgery or hysterectomy if I feel my symptoms are bad. I really did not want to have these invasive procedures. I consulted with Dr. Parker. He explained in detail that my fibroids cause heavy-bleeding and may affect my fertility. Dr. Parker said that he can perform Laparoscopic surgery to remove my fibroids. Then, I decided to have the surgery. However, before my surgery, a few issues need to be handled. One issue was that my insurance company denied the coverage of my surgery. Dr. Parker called the medical director of my insurance company and explained that my surgery is medically necessary. Later, I had questions about my appointments and I also needed some medical advices. Whenever I emailed Dr. Parker, he always replied me very quickly and helped me to solve these issues.
It is my first time to have a surgery. I was nervous on the day of surgery. Dr. Parker, and all other doctors and nurses were very friendly and tried to comfort me. After the surgery, Dr. Parker called me to check whether I was doing ok on the next day which was Saturday. Dr. Parker performed my surgery very well. My pains after surgery were manageable and transient, much better than expected. The next day after surgery, I was able to walk around. If you live alone like me, you don’t need to worry that no one can look after you after Laparoscopic surgery. You just need to have somebody to pick you up after surgery and spend the first night with you because you may not feel great after anesthesia. Then, you will be able to live alone the next day.
Dr. Parker is an expert in in the field of fibroids. He is very knowledgeable and he really cares about his patients. I have recommended him to one of my friends and I will continue doing it.
