Thankfully after a few visits with Dr. Coen I was assigned a great P. A. - Dr. Coen was my first female Physician I was horrified that her approach was curt, rude, unprofessional and condescending. I have few health problems so I had no need for Opiods and outside of oral surgery many years ago have no history of use or need for pain pills. Figured perhaps I had chosen an office that's primarily female oriented but after reading other reviews realize it was not a gender issue at all just Unprofessional behaviour by Dr. Coen.

Dr Coen was a BIG disappointment I saw her four times for same issue, pain in back and groin . The only thing she ever said was , well at your age one should expect aches and pains. Then there was well if you lost weigh or woman of your age. She finally after my fourth plea took X-rays. Nothing she said so of course according to DR Coen it must be my age, weight and gender. By that time my pain was interfering with my life. So went to another Doctor he did CT scan...Off to a specialist surgery and pain free. I went to doctor Doen because I thought I would get good care from a woman doctor. Just the opposite she put me in all those boxes that we women have been fighting against for so many years. Since this experience with her I have heard nothing but same story's DR Coen is a major disappointment I would NEVER EVER recommend her to anyone.

I only saw Dr. Coen three times. I don't have any pressing medical concerns, but had been to urgent care on a couple of occasions which could have been dealt with in a primary care office. I thought I should get established with a doctor, and a friend told me her mother saw Dr. Coen and thought she was okay. When I called to make my first appointment, the receptionist asked if I was seeking treatment for chronic pain "because the doctor doesn't see those people." I thankfully don't have any issues with that but I thought it was odd. I know there is a lot of concern in the medical community about "drug seeking behavior" but pain does seem like a legitimate reason to see a doctor. After seeing her, my impression was that she didn't like being a doctor. She had her list of boxes to check and did not want to hear any patient concerns or input that deviated from this. I rated her knowledge base as "poor" because she brushed off my few health questions. She seemed to be up to date on her checklist boxes, maybe she knows more than she shared, but was watching the clock. All three times I was there she spoke harshly to her staff, and they seemed tense and a little frightened of her. Health care has changed a lot over the last decade and maybe it's not what she thought she was signing up for when she went to medical school. Her care had a punitive feel to it, like she wanted to establish that she was boss. After my third visit I decided to look elsewhere.

I agree with the previous post. I have been visiting Dr. Coen's office since 2000. She is mostly interested in my blood pressure, and my A1C number. Most of my personal concerns are met with odd responses that do not result in dealing with my concern. I complained about my bloody nose episodes for about 8 years. Finally went to a specialist who was appalled that Dr. Coen would let my problem go so long without addressing. Ended up in the emergency room losing a quart of blood! Scary! A recent visit made me wonder about her knowledge when I showed her how my fingers are getting mildly crippled with swollen knuckles. She just brushed it off. Needless to say, after 13 years, I am looking for a new doctor!

If you want to hear "Hmm... I don't know what that could be" and then never actually look at your concern or give you anything helpful and waste $80 a visit, this is your doctor. I've had her for way too long and have wasted every bit of my time. I don't like going to doctors anyway but when I do I expect to actually get something out of it. She completely missed a cyst the size of a grapefruit that my other doctor found in 2 minutes after being told the above for 2 years! Don't waste your time or your health on her.
