He's not knowledgeable about surgery because after he made worse my knee problem decided to do surgery and one years ago I did total knee replacement surgery and after one year still I'm not able to walk and when I call his office to make appointment and talk about my problem his secretary who she's very rude lady said doctor doesn't want to see you and you need to go and see your family doctor.this is a very unprofessional answer from a doctor to his patients.

He is absolutely awful. I think my body is rejecting one of the screws from my ACL repair and all he did was send me for an Xray. My surgery was awful, my scar is awful, my mobility is awful, everything from A-Z is awful. I would not recommend this surgeon to anyone, I read the reviews prior to my surgery and saw they were quite bad but I decided to give him a chance and I regret it every day of my life. It is awful living with this regret knowing I could have done something about it or I could have been smarter before I entered his care. Please, and I beg you...if you read this review....just listen and do not go to him. Find yourself a better surgeon, a better orthopedician and someone that cares about their patients much more than he does. His surgery style is old, his empathy for patients is altogether nonexistent, and on top of that he does not talk much either as he is more of a reserved type of person. He should have probably done pathology where there is no patient contact. Dealing with dead people for Dr. Sattarian would be way better and more fitting than what he is doing now. AWFUL, BEWARE, DO NOT GO, RUN WHILE YOU STILL HAVE THE ABILITY TO, and even if you cannot run...do your homework. Pick a better surgeon.

I went to Dr. Sattarian for chronic knee pain many years ago and again recently for inflammation in my joints as I am older now. He is so kind and helpful. Always takes time to answer my questions and always has the answer. Thank you doctor

Over 7 months ago I injured my ankle by tearing my ATFL and suffering an avulsion fracture. The doctor walked in and didn't look at me, didn't introduce himself, didn't examine my ankle. He looked at the x-ray, told me it's "a ligament tear and bone chip, a nurse will come give you a brace, rest and ice it." After the nurse fit me for the brace and was about to leave, I asked "is the doctor going to come back and give me more information?" He said he would go check. Another nurse came in, looked confused, asked why I was there because she was here to clean the room, and when I said I was waiting for the doctor she got impatient and said "he's on break." I waited for the doctor in the hallway and he came back with his Tim Hortons cup about to walk past me when I stopped him and asked him to tell me more about my injury. He said "what don't you understand about "ligament tear" you look like an intelligent girl". I told him "I don't know the anatomy of the human ankle, I've never experienced this before, I'm not a doctor. Why do I have to fight you to get information about my own body?" He asked "why are you complaining?" and when I said "because you're not doing your job" he walked away from me. This is a snippet from a 15 minute yelling match just to get information about my own body. He yelled at me in the middle of a hallway with nurses all around instead of just explaining my injury to me. Had I not confronted him, I wouldn't have known to book another appointment in 2 weeks for a follow-up. That was when he told me to get physiotherapy. Why he didn't tell me this the first time, I do not know. But by then the critical initial 6-8 weeks was more than halfway over and I didn't receive the care I should have and now 7 months later I'm trying to salvage the damage that has caused. I've seen multiple physiotherapists and sports doctors, I've received numerous, very painful treatments, I go 2-3 times a week, I do the exercises at home. I'm doing everything I can but I'm still struggling; some days I'm in so much pain I can barely walk around the house. For Dr. Sattarian this was a 2 minute appointment he was in a hurry to be done with so he could go get his coffee. For me this was a serious and painful injury that is drastically affecting my life and which often feels utterly hopeless. It's not right that he still practices medicine. You have people's lives in your hands. You have the power to direct what will happen to their bodies and their lives - their ability to function fully, what they will and won't be able to do physically, the amount of suffering they will endure, their ability to work, their quality of life. I wish I had never gone to Scarborough Health Network, I wish I had gone to a different hospital, one that responsibly employs doctors that offer people the level of care that is their duty.

I just had surgery on my left foot to reconstruct the big toe and remove the bunion. Everything went very well. Dr. Sattari an was very informative and kind. His instructions were clear. I get my stitches out in a week. The foot feels really good the only pain I really had was on the 3rd day but it diminished quite significantly on the 4th day. The trick is to keep the foot elevated as much as possible and listen to your doctor. Thanks again Paulette

Had shoulder surgery for a torn labrum years ago by this doctor. He said after arthroscopic surgery, I needed to return for major surgery as he wasn't able to do anything during arthroscopic surgery due to the damage. I returned months later for major surgery at Scarborough Grace Hospital. He said after surgery that I will be 100% within a few months post surgery. I followed his instructions and began physio therapy. As months went on, my pains were getting worse and were much worse than before surgery. At my subsequent appointments over the next 6 months or so, I told him something was wrong but he shrugged it off saying I'm just taking longer to heal even though I reiterated everything is much worse than before surgery and is still getting worse. I asked for some investigation like an x-ray to see if anything was wrong. He continually refused. I then got a new referral from my family doctor for another surgeon. This new surgeon looked at the images taken prior to any surgery and new images since. This new surgeon advised that the original damage was not very serious and should have been able to be done easily arthroscopically. She advised that one of the two clips installed by Dr. Sattarian was not secured where it should be and was loose in my joint scraping every time I moved my upper arm. As a result of this clip not secured and in my joint for now over a year, I now had damaged the protective lining in the joint and developed arthritis there. This new surgeon could only remove the lose clip in the joint but the rest of the damage was not repairable. I continued to have loud clicking noises with arm movement over the next several years, sometimes with moderate to severe pains. Things deteriorated rapidly recently and I needed another surgery to repair the original botched surgery where Dr Sattarian ignored the symptoms and my urging that something was wrong post surgery. I still have permanent damage to that shoulder and was told I will likely need replacement surgery in the future.

Dr. Sattarian offered absolutely to value to my dads visit for his long term knee issues. He spent barely 5 mins before telling him what he already knows, and used a poor knee movement protractor to determine range of movement of his legs, before turning around and bullying him for not being active enough.

This man fails to understand and accurately understand his paitent's complex problems, and imposes his useless and superficial diagnosis on to them.

He made no attempt to futher investigate the orthopedic roots of my dads knee problems, and instead suggested a $500 lubricant injection or a cortisol injection.

This man is a TERRIBLE TERRIBLE doctor. I'm sure his previous reviews are written by his friends or family members, because they DO NOT reflect this man.
