usually works right on time, but not always. soemtimes gets held up working in ER and can have to wait 30-45 minutes for him to get out of there, and get downstairs to the office. Usually politely apologetic, but some people do grumble waiting for him, because we are all so used to never having to wait for this doctor.

I have had the new doctor as my physician for the past couple of years, but he is seldom here and is away a lot, and thank goodness the medical secretaries working downstairs at the Mattawa Hospital have scheduled me in with Dr. Gushe several times over the past couple of months, when I couldn't see my own Doctor, who is so often away. Dr. Gushe made the diagnosis that had been missed by the new fellow, and Dr. Gushe quickly got me referred to the specialist, for the help I needed. I am thankful for the both the staff at the medical clinic who got me scheduled in with Dr. Gushe, and especially to Dr. Gushe, who was willing to see me and help me, even though I am not in his practice. When the new physician leaves Mattawa in two months, I sure hope that I can get into Dr. Gushe's practice. Unfortunately I am just one of hundreds of patients who will be without a doctor in 2 months, and the medical secretaries have suggested to me that it is unlikely, that the remaining 3 physicians here in Mattawa, will absorb all these new patients(((

Easy to get in to see, within a day or two. Usually no more than a 5-10 minute wait in the waiting room after being met at the desk by his friendly secretaries. Very helpful and if he doesn't know he always gets a second opinion or gets tests done.

The worst ER doctor I have ever come across. If you are not one of his patients from his practice, he does not care. My wife was just in there with pain in her stomach area. He ordered blood work to test her gull bladder and when it came back normal he sent her home and told her to drink water. To top it off I found out he did not even personally go in the room to see her. He had the nurse tell her everything from his office.
I've had my personal experience with him in the past where he opened the curtain to another patient and let them tell me that I had arthritis at the old mattawa hospital. What kind of a doctor does this? I now leave go to North Bay hospital if he is on call for myself.

Calls it like it is...good news or bad news....delivered straight and to the point. So many other physicians I've seen, you can't get a clear cut answer from any of them. Dr. Gushe is a rare good physician who will cut right to the chase, and do it with kindness...

my physician since I moved to this area in 1994. Could not have better! Have lived in North Bay for a couple of years now...sight is going, can't walk very far...Dr. Gushe does house visits.....comes right to my home in North Bay. Even on Saturdays. House visits when it is convenient for ME, not on his terms. Word of warning though, he won't come do house visits, if he has to secondhand breathe your cigarette smoke. He'd been on me to quit for years. Gave me many reasons to quit. Finally did quit and feel so much better, and his house visits more recently are yet another reason I am glad I quit! Younger generations in my family are also with Dr. Gushe and they like him because they find it easy to talk to him. Not the high and mighty type, just a regular normal person. Very good Doctor!

Very good GP to me and my family for years....what you see is what you get...good, steady, consistent care over the years, with an emphasis on choosing and living a healthy lifestyle. Hasn't changed much at all, since he came to Mattawa....
