Janet actually delivered me as a baby and has been my doctor ever since. She is always ready to listen and I have every confidence in the world that she has my best interest at heart - I trust her completely. Donna (her receptionist) is the best I've ever dealt with and I find them both to be very polite, personal but most importantly they're both very caring and I trust them with my life :)

Janet has been my GP for all 21 years of my life. I know where people are coming from when it comes to her patience the past few years, but I've found that by communicating I wanted to open a conversation about something has been really beneficial for me. Once she knows I want to discuss something she's great at informing me and providing me with unbiased solutions. She's always made me feel like family.

This doctor does not care about her patients. She is rude and refuses to refer her patients to specialists. I have diagnosed every ailment I've ever had. I wouldn't let her care for my dog!

Dr McLelland was my family doctor from infancy until my late twenties, when I moved away. In my entire post-childhood experience with her, I was made to feel silly for any concerns and questions were brushed off. I felt more comfortable going to walk-in clinics. I'm glad I moved when I did, and now know what it is to have a doctor who is helping me diagnose and manage my health issues while I am still relatively young, before they have caused serious damage. I have to say - this new life without chronic pain is pretty great!

She was my doctor 20 years ago and I really liked her. However, when my sister, who had another Dr, was diagnosed with severe Endometriosis and underwent a complete hysterectomy, my mother pushed Dr. McClellend to test me by laparoscopy. She refused and basically acted like my Mum was stupid and said that there was no way I could have this disease. This went on for awhile. Well, if not for my mum pushing me to be seen by another doctor and leaving Dr. McClellend, I would not have any children today. I did have endometriosis and was able to get pregnant at age 29 after several treatments.I was only able to have one child, a blessing, but I often wonder if I had been diagnosed properly and given earlier treatment what might have happened.

I've been a patient for over 30 years and I agree with what others have said about her being irritable, not listening, and not caring. She is outright rude and when I leave her office I feel like i want to cry. She makes me feel stupid for asking questions and i leave feeling worse than when i went in. At one appt i told her I had a bad pain in the area of my appendix, she said it's probably nothing (which is her answer to every problem i come in with). When the pain lasted for TWO YEARS she still didnt order tests and explained "if it was something bad it would've happened by now. Since it's just been a pain in your stomach that hasn't changed for years IT'S NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT". I often see walk in clinic dr cause it's just easier and more helpful.

I was a patient for about 17 years. I am 53 and Janet has never checked my blood, urine or tested for anything at all. I have not even had my cholesterol checked although I asked to and was brushed off with "we only check that if there is a family history". I asked her to check for colon cancer as there is history of it in my immediate family and was told that in B.C. they only check for this if there are symptoms. I recently asked her to send me for some routine checks (blood and urine etc). She brushed everything off and I was checked for nothing. I have been very healthy but at 53 I really think that routine tests should be done to catch health problems early while they can still be treated. It had been over 3 years since she even checked my blood pressure. I was in every 3 months to renew a headache prescription but nothing is ever checked. I have switched to a wonderful doctor who is now sending me for a lot of catch up testing.

I am very disappointed with Janet. She was my doctor for 25 years. I was lucky enough to be healthy for 4 years and never went to see her. She dropped me. When I found my wonderful and young new doctor, McClelland and staff didn't even have the courtesy to send all my history over. Good riddance, its time she retired.
