The following remarks are my personal opinion, based upon my experience with this doctor years ago. On the whole, I give Dr. Farber a mixed review. The upside is that he seemed like a genuinely nice guy, and he always came to session on time. But the downsides are manifold. He often struggled to comprehend simple matters that most other doctors have no problem understanding. Frequently, he was inarticulate in answering my questions and explaining his views. Sometimes his remarks lacked cogency. Many of his professional judgments, IMO, were nothing but simple assumptions formed without adequate consideration of the evidence. Whenever I asked him to explain the reasoning and evidence that justified his judgments, Dr. Farber would either prevaricate, or give some sort of vague answer, or remain silent, as if in a stupor. From one session to the next, he sometimes forgot information we had previously discussed. In retrospect, I have serious doubts as to whether he even read my case history (prior doctors' notes).
