My last visit to Dr Porter was extremely upsetting I am desperately trying to get a condition diagnosed after 5 visits he has his(young attractive assistant) ask me why I am here I tell her He enters the room looks at the charts for a minute and says"by the way your acting I'd say your medication level are too high" and just walks out of the room!!! and I get a bill for that because you reported it to blue cross as a preexisting condition!!! that bill will never be paid and will never return Dr Porter!!!

I went to this doctor after reading positive reviews.. What a mistake. I was very sick that day. While sitting in the waiting room I was observing the staff. The medical assistant was very rude to one of the patients who was complaining about long wait time. Finally, after one hour they called me in. The MA did not take my blood pressure, nor the doctor. The doctor was not involved with the conversation with me at all, prescribed antibiotic right away (I did not take it). My throat was very sore, no rapid strep test was done. He ordered a regular strep test. It was Friday, they promised to call me on Monday with the results. I never heard from them! I called numerous times and the receptionist was very rude and irritated because I called. I got my results on Thursday (6 days later)! I recovered from my illness, but still don't know what was wrong with me. I will never go back to this office!

Dr Porter was my doctor for 15 years, but I had to leave him when I moved. I would have traveled to see him anyway, but my eyes aren't good enough to drive any more. The staff is as good as in any office, or better, and Dr Poter is WONDERFUL -- genuinely concerned about one's health, available if you have sudden illness, treats some muscle aches in capacity as osteopath, but mainly does all general medical needs. Handled my diabetes until his expertise no longer met my needs, and at that point sent me to an endocrinologist. (What a good GP should do!) I have been searching for ten years to find another like him, sigh. He spoiled me for other doctors.

I have finally found a new doctor! After going to numerous "highly recommended" doctors and being disappointed time after time, I went to Dr. Porter based on the reviews here and on other sites. I was not disappointed. His staff is professional and polite (not common anymore). It was not hard to get an appointment (also uncommon.) Then I met Dr. Porter, he was professional, knowledgeable, thorough and kind. Ironically, he trained the physician that I used to go to (and loved) but had to change because we moved! Since then my mother & sister have switched as well, both are equally as pleased with Dr. Porter.

This office has excellent staff and time spent waiting is usually due to patients who arrive either without an appointment or late for their alloted time.
