Sims was my very first gyno over a decade ago and when I saw her then the experience was always awful, mainly because the wait time was always so long. I recall one visit for a pap taking over 3 hours. I began seeing her again a few years ago, and the wait situation had improved, but I just wasn't a fan of how her office operated. I had to have a biopsy and faced with the prospect of cancer I was understandably concerned, but she and her staff were extremely dismissive of me. It was like they didn't think it was a big deal. I was apprehensive about getting my results and they treated me as if I was just being dramatic. I wasn't harassing them about it or making their job difficult in any way, I was just anxious and they seemed so annoyed by it. She also made me pay for a regular visit to give me negative test results which took two minutes. I get if that's policy but it felt unnecessary. Apparently she's retiring or moving out of BR in October, either way I would not recommend.

I don't understand any of the reviews. Dr. Sims has been my doctor for 10 years. She delivered both of my children in 2002 and in 2008, both pregnancies were high risk. She addressed all my concern and explained all of my issues in detail. She only missed one appointment, due to a personal family emergency. On our next visit she explained the reason and apologized for her absence. SHE IS VERY PROFESSIONAL, VERY ATTENTIVE, VERY RESPECTFUL OF HER PATIENTS, AND IS AN EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE DOCTOR. I APPRECIATE THE CARE GIVEN TO ME AND MY FAMILY BY DR SIMS AND "HER" STAFF. I trust her words and experience. I have always recommended her for quality and conscientious health care and will continue to do so. I am very sorry for what ever bad experience anyone else has had. But I love my Doctor so does everyone that I have recommended. They all have thanked me for the referral. So again, if your experience was bad, that is regrettable, and I am sorry... I TRUST, LOVE AND RESPECT MY DOCTOR!

I have seen Dr. Sims one time and I thought she was a decent doctor, although the staff were very rude. I will never go back there again because 2 days ago I called to make an appointment because I had been having abdominal pain for three days and I needed to see a doctor the next morning. When I called I was told I couldn't come in the next morning because Dr. Sims is not in on Thursdays, so I asked if I could see Dr. Alicia Taylor, the other doctor in the office. I was told by the secretary that I could not because they didn't EXCHANGE patients!! What?! I was in pain and I needed to see a doctor the next day and she told me NO! She didn't even chck to see if Dr. Taylor had availability, she just told me NO. I was so upset and had to call another doctor I've never seen, who was able to see me the next morning. I will NEVER step foot in that office again! Do NOT go there, they are rude and unprofessional and I am going to file a complaint with the AMA.

I was taken back very quickly. Her nurse assistant was sweet, but I was left waiting for at least an hour and half in an exam room. She looked like she was falling asleep as I talked to her....my medical history seemed like a hassle for her to deal with. Worst of all and what completely sealed the deal that I would NEVER go back is that they are impossible to get ahold of and take forever (3 weeks after calling often) to get back to you about even the smallest things like your urine test results. Not the doctor for me...that's for sure!

Dr. Sims is very kind and helpful. She takes her time during each exam, answers all questions and ask all necessary questions. Dr. Sims has really helped me when other doctors disregarded my concerns. She listens and is very attentive.
