Excellent doctor who spent time with us, listened to concerns, reviewed previous history. There was no rushing at all and all questions answered well and with patience. Staff were very polite with us. No hesitation recommending this specialist.

Dr. actually listened to my problems and followed through with consulting other docs before making a diagnosis. Excellent doctor...way better than the big neurology group that I had been seeing.

After reading these reviews and based on my personal experience, my summary is you will receive good treatment from this Dr. if he "likes" you and if he doesn't "like" you (for whatever reason) you will be somewhat abused and potentially waste your time. His PA is ignorant; you will unfortunately spend more of your time answering senseless questions. Make sure you are in his good graces before you visit. Sad but true.

Dr. Battaglia tested me for carpal tunnel, and then correctly diagnosed me as having cervical degenerative disk disease without even seeing an image, but, he ordered an mri to confirm his belief. He then gave me a very frank status of my serious condition and referred me one of the top neurosurgeons in our area. I'm gradually improving, and I'm grateful to both doctors for their care. I didn't have a negative experience with any of his staff.

This is a poor excuse for a doctor. I went to him some time ago for treatment of severe migraines that I have had since about 4 years old. I have run the gamet of tests, procedures, and countless meds. Upon the first 5 minutes of my "supposed 1/2 new patient visit, he literally shrugged his shoulders and said, I have no idea how to treat you, there is nothing I can do to help. Bedside manner was horribly rude. Also, while in the room with him, he took a personal phone call about a pending golf game that weekend. I have since changed neurologists to Dr. David Hoffman, and in my opinion, HE is a true physician. Carine, listens, and willing to help in anyway possible. I wouldn't send my DOG to Dr. Battaglia.

While i'm sure he's smart he certainly doesn't care. since being a patient for Dr. Battaglia I have switched Neurologists, however, when i was a patient i was experiencing terrible side effects to the meds he had me on- two of the most prominent being hair loss and gaining 40 pounds. When i expressed my concern he brushed them aside and refused to help which i found severely insulting. On my first appointment with the new doctor he immediately made a plan to take me off the medication that was causing these problems, which leads me to wonder why Battaglia couldn't. More recently, my sister-in-law was having the symptoms of a stroke and went to him after her stay in the hospital and he literally told her that it doesn't matter to him because when he hears that people are feeling numb throughout their body he "brushes it off". He seems to have lost his passion for medicine in my opinion.

I have to agree about the NP, five minutes with her made me want to not bother with the rest of the appointment, find a gun and shoot myself in the face. Doctor is fine but both of them should try and imagine at least once in a while what it might be like to have a neurological condition which significantly impacts your life. I was treated like a badly behaved child for expressing a desire not to be snowed with medication and found the whole experience to be slightly depressing.

Dr. Battaglia is very understanding and helpful. He gives freely of his time. My complaint is with his nurse practioner Maureen Stegman, she is often times not very understanding to a patients problems and is not willing to accept the fact that people have other medical conditions that they need to take other medications for, If I were ratin her alone she would recieve a 2 for helpfulness.
