Dr. Nel was my family doctor up until I turned 18. He routinely dismissed my symptoms and told me my pain was normal. I lived in severe pain for my whole childhood and teen years, believing that I was just whiny and my pain was normal. I have since been diagnosed with multiple lifelong disabilities, disabilities that he missed. I wish I had been diagnosed sooner so I could have accessed treatment sooner, but more than that I wish he had listened to me and taken my pain seriously. He taught me to not trust my body and not to trust doctors.

I had a great birthing experience with Dr. Nel as my doctor. He checked in a lot and let me make decisions on things that I didn't know were options when I had my 1st baby years ago (different doctor). Also, the nurses at Olds hospital were fantastic. :)

We had to see Dr. Nel today on short notice. He's not our family doctor but we were happy he had the time to see us. He was early, helpful, knowledgable, and kind!

Amazing doctor, has been my familys doctor now for 5 years and i have never had a more trustworthy, empathetic physician in my life. Doesn't rush to get you out the door and focuses on what you have to say. IF and when I have to see a different doctor i get pretty sad. I never leave without at least one laugh.

Don't doubt his medical knowledge is good. However, I wonder if he really respects seniors. The impression I got was that prescribing a medication and getting the older patient out as quickly as possible is his way of dealing with the elderly. The merry-go-round, having to go back again and again only to be prescribed another medication without deeper investigation is of deep concern. Treat people how you hope to be treated when you become a senior citizen.

Arrogant doctor who thinks highly of himself. He seems to think he is better than his patients . He seems to think they are stupid and he must have complete control.
