Concerning lapband surgery. about 6 months or so after the surgery, found that the port had flipped. Dr's response was "this happens sometimes". fixed the problem with another surgery. another 1 1/2 years go by and finding i am eating more food than usual. go into office and he is asking ME how many cc's are in the band--I am the patient, he should know! find out i am "leaking" somewhere and that this might happen. again, he is asking me questions that he should be asking a nurse. he asks me how much saline should i put in? after 3 more weeks, still leaking "somewhere" and problem isn't fixed. doesn't give me much confidence about his ability. will try one more time and if good results aren't found, will then find another doctor.

Three surgeons have told me "we don't operate for occasional abdominal pain." The first refused to operate and left me rotting for two days with a burst appendix. The second refused to operate three times until forced to do so several weeks later for an intestinal obstruction caused by the first surgeon's mistake, which then required a blood transfusion. The third, Swannack also uses this statement. What's occasional about constant pain due to yet another intestinal obstruction and being unable to eat for several days? I'm attempting to have something done before ending up in the ER, or worse, but this looks to be impossible. My wife was utterly appalled at the treatment I received in this man's office. He was fixated on one problem, but not the primary problem and seemed to have his mind made up before even seeing me. Nothing I then explained was listened to. My wife literally asked, "what just happened?"
