I was deeply disturbed and disappointed to read these negative reviews of Dr. Jason Snibbe who has given me back my quality of life. Hence, my taking the time to respond.

I found him to be kind, patient, skilled, as well as being a wonderful human being I am blessed to know. I received bilateral hip surgery in 2019 and continue to enjoy a pain-free quality of life! He and his staff always took the necessary time to respond to my many questions. And yes, consequently, he was usually running late. But heck, people, most physicians driven by the bottom line or corporate interests do not even do this anymore! And yes, sometimes it took a few days or tel. calls to hear back from his office. but I always received a response.I have found that to be the case in many large medical offices these days.

I do not know the backstory of those who had negative experiences.
Do you do your own due diligence and interview SEVERALl surgeons prior to major surgery?
Do you ask many educated questions after doing your own research?
If you don't like the way an office is run, do you promptly decide to take your business elsewhere ?

By the way, someone mentioned another great surgeon and human being, Dr. Brad Penenberg. He, too, generously spends a lot of time with patients responding to their questions and runs late. Think about it people. You can't have it both ways--physicians taking the time to respond to your questions or getting you out of the office as quickly as possible so they can run on time.
Do your own research and due diligence before manifesting your own bad experience.

Dr Snibbe is a great knowledgeable surgeon. After many years of suffering from knee problems, I am finally able to function properly and without pain.

If you are having a knee replacement, forget all the other reviews on Dr Snibbe talking about quick recovery. Hips are easy compared to knees so make sure you absolutely certain you need to do it before proceeding. After a year, I am in more pain than before the surgery. Being an active 65 yr old, that is not what I expected or was led to believe. On to Dr Snibbe and his practice. If you are looking for lots of reassurance and help answering your questions (and you should have a lot of them), this is not the place to get them. Dr Snibbe is a pleasant enough guy for the few minutes you get to see him, once you waited a day for someone to call you back to arrange an appointment and then waited the hour or two after the scheduled time to see him (every time, even for the first appointment of the day). Regarding his surgical skills, they look great on paper but with my outcome, I would have to say they are questionable. The office however (to quote a friend who I found out later had used him) is a s**tshow. Don’t be surprised when the person behind you at the front desk is checking in for an appointment with Dr Snibbe at the same time as yours. Don’t be surprised when no one calls you back to answer your pre-op questions. Don’t be surprised when the office threatens to cancel the surgery if you don’t pay in advance (and they still owe me money for overpayment). Don’t be surprised by the amount of pain you will be in. Don’t be surprised when Dr Snibbe is not there for the post-op visit. Don’t be surprised when you don’t get any follow up calls from the office to see how you are doing. Don’t be surprised when you try to schedule a follow up visit because you are still in pain and the earliest available is two months out. Don’t expect Dr Snibbe to help you with the pain post-surgery, other than some verbal reassurances and maybe a cortisone shot to temporarily reduce it. Don’t expect to be pain-free after a few months (or a year in my case). Bottom line, don’t be surprised and don’t expect anything, particularly post-surgery. Hopefully then your experience will be better than mine.

Due to “Dr.” Snibbe’s surgical & medical incompetence, I will never be able to have a normal life again. I will always be physically limited and have to live with pain. Because of “Dr.” Snibbe, I almost lost my leg. I have heard of similar cases from 3 of his other patients.
Here is what happened… “Dr.” Snibbe said that my left hip needed to be replaced. Immediately after surgery, the hip didn’t feel right. I had chills, pain, and fever for months. I had repeated follow–up visits to “Dr.” Snibbe. A golf-ball size mass grew in my left glute muscle which “Dr.” Snibbe drained twice in his office & sent me on my way. After his failed attempts to diagnosis the problem correctly, I finally sought help from Dr. Brad Penenberg. It turns out that the prosthetic that “Dr.” Snibbe placed in me had become infected, and had been for nearly a year.
After seeking help from Dr. Penenberg, it was found that the fluid was an infection that eventually consumed the entire hip, bone, and tissue area. Dr. Penenberg had to core into my femur, and put in surgical cement until the infection cleared. A pick line was inserted into my heart, which extended out to my arm so that I could receive daily intravenous antibiotics. I was on mandatory bed rest for weeks. Finally, after 2 years, I have slowly progressed from mandatory bed rest, to a walker, to crutches, to a cane. I am currently still in physical therapy every week. “Dr.” Jason Snibbe should not be allowed to do this ever again to another human being. I have filed a complaint and investigation with the State of California Medical Board to avoid “Dr.” Snibbe from maiming another patient.

Dr Snibbe was there for me when others were not. He did a complete shoulder replacement and reverse shoulder surgery on me. I can function and do "normal"things that I was told I wouldn't be able to do before I met Dr Snibbe. Not only is he a wonderful surgeon, but a comforting, kind and trusted Doctor. And his staff, Dr Jennifer, Marco, etc. are great.

Incorrectly diagnosed hip problem, performed surgery to repair torn labrum, post op claimed I had told him I was suffering from groin pain (I have never had groin pain) which is why he went ahead with surgery. Too quick to diagnose and rush me into surgery. Always get a second opinion when dealing with Dr Snibbe.

first, note that comments get worse as time goes on. he is just too busy to give an accurate diagnosis and performs too many surgeries. THR on 10/2/12. Mild - moderate arthritis. Old torn labrum, not repairable. I had full external rotation and 12% inner rotation. Now, I have -3% inner. Snibbe "you can't walk like that, haha." Somehow I now have impingement. Pain with every step still, he sends me to Ozoa who says he gets 5-10% of Snibbe's patients who really didn't need a THR. Turns out all pain was coming from a nerve from my tailbone. Snibbe "well, you would have needed one in 10 years anyway." Please stay away from any doctor like Snibbe, who brags he can do a THR in 45 minutes. How many other doctors in town are getting Snibbe's patients who really didn't need a surgery, let alone a replacement? If I could do it over again I would go to Bolling next door.

I WENT TO DR. SNIBEE WHEN I INJURED MY WRIST. HE COMPLETELY MISSED THE FRACTURE AND I SUFFERED FOR 3 MONTHS. WENT BACK COMPLAINING AGAIN FO PAIN, HE JUST SHRUGGED HIS SHOULDERS. WELL, IJUST HAD SUGERY ONMY HAND, I HAD BOTH ABROKEN WRIST AND A RUPTERED TENDON. THE 2 DOCTORS I WENT TO AFTER SNIBEE WERE SHOCKED THAT AN OTHROPEDIC SURGEON WOULD HAVE MISSED SUCH AN EASY FRACTURE TO SEE. I NO LONGER TRUST DR. SNIBEE

Dr. Snebbe is a talented and caring surgeon. I am 6 weeks post-op hip replacement and walking well. I do think that more time should be spent discussing potential risks before surgery ( I was taken off guard by complications I had, but ultimately Snebbe was supportive and helpful). I also think more time should be spent with the patient postop in the hospital. But in this respect he is no different than most other orthopedic surgeons. I recommend him based on his skills and knowledge as a surgeon.
