He ruined my life. After 3 unsuccessful surgery's at the Mayo clinic to repair the main nerve he cut in my leg during minor sugery I will be handicapped for life. A nuerostemulator implant is the only thing that gives me a little relief from the pain. I take muliple narcotic drugs as well. Now my other foot is breaking down because I carry all my weight on it. Dr. Cohen did not care that he did this. in fact he was going to sue me for the $518.00 that the insurance didn't pay. I sad go ahead. He than forgave the bill. The surgery he did was to remove a tumor on the bone of my leg. He shaved it off and didn't send it off for byopsy. Mayo said this was totally wrong and I was lucky is was not cancerous. Lucky, not so sure. Pain that will never go away and will increase over time. I'm going to be fitted with a brace soon as I'm loosing total control of my foot now and will not be able to walk soon without it. I walk with a cane now but who knows what the future will bring.

Doc was personable enough, came threw op. fine but was downhill the rest of the way.Leg was bent so bad it was like walking on a very short leg,a yr. later still(after intensive PT)still was a walking mess,19mo.after surgery I had to go to (finally) a new surgeon.I was living a pain filled nightmare! New Doc redid everything and am still recooping.NEVER go to N.O.I. in MT.Vernon,IL,Dr.froling is there also,he is worse than Doc Cohen.Terrible experience!!!! I've been through 2 operations in less than 19 mo.I was a mess and they new it! But they kept me coming back for visits with NO help $$$$ Dr. Cohen was leaving anyway!! I was no longer HIS problem. I am very bitter How I was done at N.O.I.Went to another orthopedic surgeon and did much better but because of first surgery my recoup time has been LOOONG and Hard.I'm still not completly over surgerys.Take some advice from someone who's been through HELL AND get several opions before you let anyone start cutting bones tendons muscle etc!!

The first doctor I saw, (not Dr. Cohen) wanted to do surgery immediately to repair my rotator cuff tear. Dr. Cohen was my second opinion, and I am glad I went to him. He wanted to first reduce the inflammation in my shoulder which was causing sleepness nights, and then treat the injury with PT. It has been over a year and no surgery and my shoulder, with exercise and using caution when using that arm, has helped me tremendously. I am very grateful to Dr. Cohen for diagnosing my problem, not just wanting to hurry and do surgery like the other schmuck Dr. Tutto grazie.

Dr. Cohen did surgery on my husband in '05, and did an outstanding job. Dr. Cohen is a very good surgeon and has a great personality. I would recommend him to anyone. His staff is also very nice and helpful.
