When Dr. Heist first started his practice, I liked it. In a few years, booked too many people for the same time. The waiting room is small. If your not feeling well, the last thing anyone needs is to have another person cough and sneeze. I gave up and found a better practice.

Doctor Heist is a ROCK STAR in cowboy boots!
He wants the understanding to be mutual so he explains and he listens. He does not rush, so sometimes you have to wait, I don't care about that. (If u do care & don't want that personal thing - the office recently put a new program into place where, on certain days, at certain times, you can be in & out in 15 minutes.)
For me and others (friends, family) Dr Heist has diagnosed a few issues that were not found by other physicians.
He's got a quirky sense of humor. He's really smart and up-to-date. He's compassionate and he lets you know what's up firmly but without judgment. He's MY doctor & I think he's great!
BUT - his Practice is HURT by lots of crazy rules & times & schedules!!!
Although some of the staff is friendly, some are definitely NOT.
We working people often can ONLY call at lunchtime or after work - but there's a ridiculous phone schedule (I don't know of ANY other office, in ANY business, that completely shuts down at noon for over an hour, EVERYDAY). The weekday schedule is very confusing and even when the office should be open for calls - don't be surprised to hear the non-scheduling answering service, anyway. I was once told "If nothing is going on, we shut down early". I say - Nothing is going on BECAUSE you shut down early.
When I am trying to call on their schedule & they cheat the schedule, it makes it really hard, sometimes, to get an appointment - but if you are sick, once you get through to the office, you can be seen rather quickly.
ALSO - The pharmacy is NOT PERMITTED to call the office for refills or anything else. So you must call the office (ugh-oh, that CRAZY battle) or go in just to have a simple maintenance refill... WHO does not let the pharmacy call?
I feel like the staff does NOT give their ALL to the Doctor who gives his ALL to his patients! They really seem to HATE the phone!!!!
I would guess the good Doctor has had some of these workers a very long time & trusts them to run the office in a way that reflects his laid back style. I also have to guess he is unaware of it's unwelcoming atmosphere.

Must wait too long. Even when I'm the very first patient of the day (9:00 am) I must wait 1/2-1 hr. before he comes in the examination room. I must say however, he is friendly and knowledgeable. Brenda is GREAT!

Horrible horrible communication. 30+ mins on hold every time I call and actually get someone to pick up, usually they don't even pick up during scheduled hours and have no answering service. Wait time in office is 45+ mins in the waiting room and as much in the patient room. A nurse practitioner told me anal warts were just warts and there was no vaccine for them, and later I needed surgery for an HPV outbreak after contracting. Furious with this office--never met a worse one, and my family works in health care. They also force you to call them to get refills for the most basic allergy medications. Much of my life wasted and barely can constrain myself from cussing them out every time I talk to them.

The receptionist can be a little disconcerting but Melissa is a very nice helpful physicians assistant. The wait is the worst part about going to the office.

I've been seeing the Doc ever since he took he took over for Dr. Fruchtman. He is THE BEST! Bring something to read or play a game on your phone because you will wait. But when he sits with you it is all about you and he wont rush you. He listens and believes you and wants you to understand him too. Please dont call for an appointment! I dont want to share!
