I found Dr Kumar to be very thorough, asking many questions and getting to know the various aspects of my health issues. He developed a recovery plan and took the time to explain the how’s and why’s to me. I am encouraged and look forward to recovering from the depression that I’ve been experiencing.

I am really suspicious of the 'smiley face' ratings for this guy after reading the other VERY negative ,completely opposite end of the spectrum ratings - not that he would 'doctor' his own reviews or anything....would he?...winkwink

WORST DOCTOR I HAVE EVER SEEN!! DIDNT EVEN TAKE THE TIME TO UNDERSTAND WHAT WAS GOING ON...HE MADE ME FEEL LIKE I WAS GOING BACKWARDS ON MY PROGRESS AND COULDNT ANSWER MAJORITY OF MY QUESTIONS...HE MADE ME FEEL MORE SICK THEN I REALLY WAS AND TRIED TO GIVE ME A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT DIAGNOSES ON MY FIRST 10 MINUTES OF SEEING HIM, WHEN I ALREADY HAD A DIAGNOSES AND WAS DOING WELL ON MY MEDICATION...HE WOULD CUT ME OFF EVERYTIME I WOULD TRY TO ANSWER HIS QUESTIONS OR EXPLAIN A PROBLEM, YELLED AT ME SEVERAL TIMES, TOLD MY FIANCE NOT TO TALK WHEN HE WAS HELPING ME REMEMBER SOME THINGS, WALKED OUT RUDELY FOR A PERSONAL CELL PHONE CALL, I HAVE SO MUCH MORE TO SAY BUT THE MORE I THINK ABOUT IT THE MORE ANGRY I GET!! WE NEED REAL PSYCHIATRISTS IN REGINA...NOT THIS JOKE!!!

Felt suicidal, needed time off work and Kumar doesn't believe in taking people off work. My GP was active in my treatment and took me off work. Tells Canada Pension Disability that I have no sign of depression. After attempting suicide, ended up in Psych Ward (RGH)and was ridiculed by Kumar and nurses. I was sure I died and went to Hell. Kumar is useless. The older Dr. Kumar was a real doctor.

Dr. Kumar is a very compassionate man. He did a thorough job of reviewing my information PRIOR to my appointment and brought to light things about me even I was unaware of. In my opinion, I believe that to be extremely helpful. At no point did I ever feel rushed during my appointment, nor did I ever feel belittled or ignorant. He was very sympathetic and I even found him to be somewhat comical despite my severe depression. Thank you Dr. Kumar.

In my opinion, after having been his patient, we are in desperate need of some better doctors in this field. But when there is a shortage, patients don't really have much of a choice and thus, as was my experience, have to put up with some very poor doctoring until they can find someone else which is what I was finally able to do.

I have only seen him a few times over the past 6 months but so far I have found him to be quite compassionate, respectful doctor who trys to do a careful job for me. He also makes me think and brings me around to where I need to be, not where my thoughts want to take me. Thank you Dr. Kumar.

My daughter is extremely depressed and she went to the hospital because she knew that she needed help. She was assigned to Dr. Kumar. She was in the hospital for 5 weeks and he only saw her sporadically. She was having ECT's and she was on medication. When he finally did come to see her she told him that she was really worried because she already had 10 ECT's and she wasen't feeling any better. She thought that he would suggest trying a different antipressant but instead he told her that he could have her certified and sent to North Battleford where they put the insane people. Those were his words and there was a nurse in the room to witness this. My daughter was extremely upset and the nurse was shocked that a doctor would say something like that to a patient. This doctor has done nothing for our daughter and in fact has made her feel worse. We are in the process of trying to remove Dr. Kumar as her doctor.
